Stalk Me by Jillian Dodd

This is the first book in the Keatyn Chronicles and it is pretty interesting. I am very back and forth on if I love Keatyn or hate her.

Basically, everything in Keatyn's life is perfectly fake. Her mother is a movie star and she lives in Malibu. She is left alone a lot and is able to come and go as she pleases. Everyone thinks that she has the perfect life...perfect boyfriend and great best friends. Everything is not as it appears...her relationship is not as hot and heavy as it appears and Sander is constantly getting drunk and Keatyn has to take care of her. Her best friend is blackmailing her in order to keep their status in the school.  Keatyn feels like everything is falling apart. Her mom's stalker has become angry with her. Keatyn finally decides that she should do what makes her happy and tries to make her life her own.

Keatyn kind of has multiple personalities. She has the glam Barbie doll, the surfer chick and the soccer chick.  There are hot boys of course that all love her. She is only 16 and I think that Jillian Dodd did a great job of looking at life as a 16 year old. She made Keatyn seem older in a lot of ways but she also had her make her choices as a 16 year old would. Even though Keatyn is mature and does a lot of great things you understand that she is young. I did get really mad at her as I was reading and wanted to shake her. I am looking forward to reading Kiss Me-the next book in the series. I am giving this book 4 stars.

The Vincent Brothers by Abbi Glines

I finally have read both The Vincent books. I read the Vincent Boys about a month ago. However to have a tendency to skip around books. This book is now from Sawyer's view. I was not sure about this book since I loved Beau so much. But Sawyer is pretty awesome too. The book started from six months after his break up with Ash. He still is heartbroken and can't seem to let it go. And Ash and Beau love to show off their public affection(putting it lightly). After Sawyer almost got into it with Beau about Ash at a party, he goes to a place to eat and runs into Ash's cousin, Lana. And wow, she has grown up. He takes notice of it as well. Lana always had a crush on Sawyer and thought Ash was dumb for breaking it off with him. But now she has this one chance to see if she can get his attention before they all take off to college. No one ever took notice of her before. But now she has a new wardrobe, new hair and has all her assets have grown. Unfortunately, Sawyer is stuck on if he does date Lana, does he want to be with her for all the right reasons. Not just to make Ash jealous. Now that she is here, he is acting like a whole new person than what he was before. And taken note by everyone else. He does ask her to go waterboarding and was finding no problem making it known he was interested. Later that night he says something to his friend that made it official he didn't think anything of Lana in compared to Ash. And it just so happens Lana heard the whole rant. Sawyer puts his foot in his mouth several times in this book. It was just a matter of when he decided that Ash was not his first priority anymore. Would he be too late? After Lana hears that Sawyer was to Ash's rescue yet again, she left her Aunts and thanks Ash with a letter. Sawyer finds out she left and read the letter that would mean so much to him. This is the last summer before they all move on to college. One last summer in that town and they all went there separate ways. Will Sawyer move on from the hurt of his and Ash's breakup? Does he mend his relationship with Beau? Does Saywer sees there is more than what he had with Ash? I can't tell you that of course! But as I always need in a book, I got that happy ending. I am rating this a 4.5 Get your Read On! Darra

Wallbanger

Did the name peek your interest? This is by Alice Clayton. I was looking for you. Again, don't know how I found this one. As you may see, this is NOT a YA book. Only for us adults. Caroline has just moved into her new place and absolutley loves it. The first night she is awakened by her next door neighbor having sex with some lady shouting his name over and over, Simon. Turns out the walls are paper thin. The next night rolls along. Same thing, but she notices it is not the same woman. She meows! Now Caroline is intrigued with him and what he looks like. She is renting the apartment from her boss, who she loves working for. She is a house designer and is great at it. Caroline can't help but talk about the Wallbanger that lives next to her. Having to hear Simon and his harem every night has got Caroline all worked up. Finally one night she is fed up of always waking up tired. She walks over to her new neighbor to give him a piece of her mind. Once he finally answers, she is staring at a hot, shirtless, six pack and a V(ladies-I am sure you know about the cut). Only covered up by a blanket with one hell of a hard on. It all becomes all awkward and she forgot she was wearing her VS pink nightie. This caused one hell of a conversation with her bf's, Sophia and Mimi. Jillian, her boss and her husband, Benjamin are having a house warming party. Caroline along with her friends go to "mingle". Both her friends eye potential boyfriends and walking up next to them is Simon. She is fuming that she is met by his friends and is known by the name of "Pink Nightie Girl". While her friends point out Simon is the "Wallbanger". The party comes to the end and both her friends leave her with Simon to drive her home. They decide they will call a truce and live next to each other as friends. Of course time goes by and they seem to enjoy each other's company. And there is non stop sexual banter between the two. It makes it enjoyable to read with the whitty conversations. Caroline's friend has her family's home in Tahoe available for a weekend. All of them meet there and things take a turn in the opposite direction. Did I also tell you that Simon is an international photographer? And takes Caroline on one of his shoots, Spain. The rest I am going to leave out. The book has the trifecta: Hot, funny and love. These books are my FAVORITE. I like to read and actual laugh more than once. Keeps me reading. I read this within 14 hours. And that is also including sleep, movie and kid taking up the time. I would have read all in one night if I could! GET THE BOOK! My rating would be a 4.6. Here is the authors info. Check it out. Darra

Damon (The Protector Series)

I have not read any good vampire books lately. I just so happen to be following an author that name dropped Teresa Gabelman and said to check her out. The book look interesting. So here I am. BTW, I must have a thing for Damon's! Okay, enough about me. Nicole loves her job as a CPS worker and takes prides in helping overs. She has a deep connection to all the children she has on file. Especially since she had went through the same thing as being a foster child and never been loved by a real family. The twist to this is that humans and vampires live together equally. The new problem is children are being turned into vampires. So Nicole is placing not only human children but vampire children too. She has to be wary about all foster homes. As of lately, their blood is being sold for money so humans can get high off of it. She is now in danger when she finds the foster parent pumping the blood out his foster child for money. She now needs to find better ways to protect herself. Her boss has brought in a few vampire warriors to get them into shape. Automatically, she is drawn to Damon. He has a hot body and golden eyes. He has black, long hair. Okay, I get that most vampires have long hair, but do they really? I dont dig long hair. Please cut the hair! Both Damon and Nicole are drawn to each other but Damon has his reasons tries his best to not get close to her. But all he wants is to Protect her. Nicole has been targeted to kill and it is Damon job to find out who. Then they catch up to her. She is determined to keep all the people she loves out of harms way. Even if that means she ends up dead. What would do if you had a choice if your love one lives knowing they will never be the same or death? It is up to you. You will love Nicole, Damon & Jared. Great characters! And the series continues! The next one is of Jared's life. It should be good! It is next on my reading list. Worth the read! Rating: 4.4 Http//www.teresagabelman.com DARRA

Kicking Eternity by Ann Lee Miller

So I am going to cheat a little on this blog :) Ann was nice enough to send me the synopsis for this book. This is her debut novel and it was really good. I will say that I feel like it is not for everyone.

Stuck in sleepy New Smyrna Beach one last summer, Raine socks away her camp pay checks, worries about her druggy brother, and ignores trouble: Cal Koomer. She’s a plane ticket away from teaching orphans in Africa, and not even Cal’s surfer six-pack and the chinks she spies in his rebel armor will derail her.

The artist in Cal begs to paint Raine’s ivory skin, high cheek bones, and internal sparklers behind her eyes, but falling for her would caterwaul him into his parents’ life. No thanks. The girl was self-righteous waiting to happen. Mom served sanctimony like vegetables, three servings a day, and he had a gut full.

Rec Director Drew taunts her with “Rainey” and calls her an enabler. He is so infernally there like a horsefly—till he buzzes back to his ex.

Raine’s brother tweaks. Her dream of Africa dies small deaths. Will she figure out what to fight for and what to free before it’s too late?

For anyone who’s ever wrestled with her dreams.

My thoughts on this book:

At first I was like no way am I going to make it through this book. I am comfortable with my own thoughts on religion but have never done well with people that are overly outspoken on it. I have always said I will read just about anything and I can't think of very many books that I have not finished. So I continued on and I am really glad that I did. I loved that the book was written from all the main characters POVs. I love getting to see their thoughts and feelings. I was not a big fan of Raine at first but at the end I really liked her and I wanted her to be able to make her dreams come true. I will be reading the next book from Ann Miller and I give this book 3.9 stars.

A Little Bit About The Author:

Ann Lee Miller earned a BA in creative writing from Ashland (OH) University and writes full-time in Phoenix, but left her heart in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where she grew up. That Boy & That Wedding by Jillian Dodd

That Boy

So I apologize for taking so long before writing this review...Darra forgot to mention I was out with a migraine! Anyways, I think that Jillian Dodd did an awesome job with this book.

This book is focused on a girl, JJ and her 2 best friends, Phillip and Danny.  The story starts as JJ is a child and she lives across the street from Phillip. Their parents are best friends and so of course JJ & Phillip are raised together. There are the obligatory naked baby pics of them together and everything!  Danny and his family move in next door to JJ and he tries to steal Phillip away. So being totally awesome, JJ punches Danny in the face and he accepts her as one of the guys.  The 3 of them stay best friends from childhood, junior high, high school, college and into REAL life.  There are some definite ups and downs...such as the first kiss, the first spin the bottle, the first make-out session...through it all the 3 are there together, but at the end of the day there is only That Boy.

I really love this book. I think that Jillian Dodd did a great job making you fall in love with all 3 characters. I like seeing a girl that is not a total moron and JJ is not. Don't get me wrong...she is a little slow sometimes but hey, remember what you were like in high school!  I mean who can't get on board with living on the same street as your 2 best friends that happen to grow up into 2 of the hottest guys in town! I mean we have Danny the super hot QB and Phillip the sweet and quietly hot receiver. Seriously, why didn't this happen to me?  Anyways, you get to grow up with them and I personally wasn't a 100% who I wanted That Boy to be but I can't lie...I was so happy when I found out who he is!  And yes I cried...I really hate admitting that I am a wuss but there you go...NO JUDGING!

Obviously I will not be telling you who That Boy was because it will ruin the story so I am going to be totally generic in this review.  I liked this book but I do like the first one better.

In this one, they are planning That Wedding!  You get to see JJ deal with some issues that are lingering from her childhood that she has not dealt with. You get to see how she freaks out and how That Boy continues to help her and makes her see that she is a strong person and he is 100% there for her. The other boy is still in her life and you get to see how her relationship with him continues to grow.  Some old flames show up as well to go ahead and throw a wrench in the wedding planning.

I think I will give That Boy 4.5 stars (PS look for the rating system to change)  and That Wedding gets 4 stars.  If you are looking for a book that will give you warm fuzzies, make you laugh, make you cry and of course make you sigh then read these books. I mean Phillip is one of the dreamiest guys I have read about and again all I can say about Danny is QB!

That Boy!

Hola,

We haven't been updating nearly as much as we should. Too busy reading! Sunny and I read That Boy. Since she is so slow and read it two days ago, I will blog about it. Such a sweet book. I liked the fact that it has it from JJ's life going from just a little girl to an adult. JJ is the main character and her next door neighbor is her best friend(Phillip) since childhood and continues on the rest of her life. Another boy comes and moves in on their road, Danny.
Of course, she was jealous at first, but then they are become the three of the closest friends. The story goes thru Junior high into high school, college into their adult career's. As you can imagine, there are the up's and downs of their life's.
But they remain all together. You will fall in love with all three of them. In the end, all girls will be going aaahhhh, love it! But there is more!
That Wedding is the next book after That Boy. Sunny can tell you her POV about both these books. I haven't read That Wedding yet. But I heard from a source that it is good as well.
We are such girls and cried. If you have a heart, you would too.

Dark House (Experiment in Terror #1)

Hello All!
I finished the book finally! It is a mystery ghost story. Perry is the main character and is refreshingly not perfect. She was a cast out in high school and over weight. Now Perry has lost the weight, finished College and is in the work place.

The problem is is that she never had stuck to a particular career. She got her degree and works at a Advertising agency as a receptionist. Bored out of her mind and is just not happy with what she is doing. Even at once, she wanted to be a stunt woman. Obviously that did not work out.

One weekend she goes to her Uncle's house with her family and he owns an old, creepy Lighthouse that has not been in use for decades. It is all boarded up to prevent everyone out. That night, she spends some time with her sister. Which so happens to be the 15 year old perfect teenager. Her being slim, blonde and is all about fashion. Perry and Ada go to hand out with their cousins on the beach.

After awhile she gets bored with sitting around the fire, she decides to take a walk. And ends up gravitating to the Lighthouse. Despite it being boarded up, she finds a window she can pry open. Once she gets in, she doubts her plans to be there. She brought her camera to video what it looks like inside the abandoned builing. Then BAM! She runs into Dex. I will not go into detail about what happens in the lighthouse so you can find out for yourself!

She goes back home and continues with nightmares that do not make sense to her. The Monday after that weekend, she gets a call from Dex. It ends up that Dex works for a online website and wants to shoot a show including her.

That is how I am going to end this! Only know that you find out a little more details about what both Perry and Dex have in common. And more scary situations that does take you by suprise.

I won't lie to you, it was not my favorite book. It may be just me. You will have to ask Sunny what she thought. However I do not regret reading it. I like a scary story every once and awhile.

SPANK! 50 Shades Parody

IF THIS PLAY COMES TO YOUR CITY OR ONE CLOSE TO YOU GO SEE IT!!!!

This is honestly the funniest thing I have seen in soooo long...basically I laughed until I cried!  So we can all admit our dirty little secret...we got caught up in the 50 Shades hoopla.  There is no judging here...its a safe place.  So we all read the books, talked about them constantly...and if you remember in those conversations we talked about how the books weren't really written very well, how tired we are all of the perfectly hot innocent klutz virgins who get the super HOT RICH guy and really the Inner Goddess--let's face it I don't have an IG. I have an Inner FAT Bi$#H that is always EATING ICE CREAM and CHOCOLATE and (I kinda love this) is always DRUNK!!!!!!!!  So this play makes fun of all the stuff that we have already complained about--LOVE IT!

At first I was a little nervous about this play b/c I wasn't really sure what it was going to be like. After about 30 seconds I knew I was in for a treat. I am being 100% serious when I say go see this if you can. It is a 3 person parody on the 50 Shades books and the cast is awesome. It opens with the "author" at home for the weekend with no husband or kids and she decides to write a book.  She is drinking and writing and creates "Natasha" who is of course a perfect innocent unaware college senior. She then creates "Hugh Hanson" the young billionaire with all kinds of issues.  As you can imagine it goes downhill from there. I mean so funny.

As the play goes along the cast does come out into the audiance for a couple of ad libs and they did taylor some of the lines for TEXAS! At one point the "author" was writing and "Tasha" was acting it out...she was acting out an armadillo having an orgasm (insert tears of laughter here).  There were a few props...I think I am going to leave it at that....wait no I'm not..."Hugh Hanson" had a helicopter, hover craft, hang gliders and so much more.  "Hugh Hanson" can dance and sing...before the play starts he comes out and does some very "Magic Mike"ish moves and at one point in the play he sings "Can I be your Master, Baby?"  It was pretty freaking good. The song is basically about him trying to get "Natasha" to approve him putting things in her butt.

We all remember how we rolled our eyes when Christian gets the doctor to come for a home visit on a Sunday morning, right?  Well, they made fun of this too by having "Natasha" go into the audience and meet the "DR".  The lady in the front row was hilarious.  She said her name was Dr. Pepe (do we think maybe she is reading the Lux series and has a thing for Pepe???). So the best line from this part is:
Natasha: Dr. Pepe, can I make my boyfriend love me with lots of sex?
Dr. Pepe: If you let him put it in your butt!!!
Audience dies laughing at this point...actress playing author goes to her knees laughing...
Natasha: Can you lift your hands over your head and show me how much I can put in my butt?
Dr.Pepe: (hands over head measured out well over a foot...think small terrier)
actress playing author bowed on hands and knees to Dr. Pepe.

So for the last time, GO SEE THIS FREAKING PLAY!!!!!!!!!! (and get the Spanktini if they offer it...it is delish!)

On Dublin Street...Sunny's Take

I finished this book a few days ago and it was very good. This is another book Darra recommended to me that I kept putting off saying "Uh, sure, I'll read that soon..."  Unfortunately, as usual, she was correct-I enjoyed it.

So basically you have a girl with a terrible history. Her family dies when she is 14 and she goes into foster care until she is 18. She does the wild and crazy thing for awhile until she figures out that is not a good idea. She leaves the States and goes to Scotland for college and plans on staying there afterwards. She has a best friend that has as many issues as she does so she does not really have to get too close to anyone. Needless to say she must move into a different apartment and she meets Ellie Carmichael.  Ellie is a open friendly girl that wants to be Joss' friend.  Along with Ellie, Joss meets Braden Carmichael...and seriously wow! Braden and Joss are trying to find a friendship/relationship/agreement that they can both live with...

I am going to leave it there because I am always afraid I give too much away.  There are some steamy scenes so if that is what you are looking for you found your book!  Braden is no Jericho Barrons but he would definitely be in my top 5 of book boyfriends.  I really like Joss too because she is not a weak girl. She has handled so much in her life and continues to live the way she wants. I would give this book 4.2 stars out of 5.

On a side note: I am reading a different book right now and it is taking me longer to get through than normal. So hang tight and be prepared...

On Dublin Street by Samantha Young

Hola,

I am writing this review before Sunny finished reading this to tick her off. Adult Content! Everyone will compare it to 50 shades however I like Braden more than Christian Grey. Also they came out at the same time, so it is hard to say it is following 50. So don't compare.

Story goes a chick(Jocelyn) moved to Dublin Street Apartment after living with her bestfriend, who moved to England. She likes her new roomate, Ellie. And just so happens that she has a hot brother, Braden. Joss has many issues from her past and makes her standoffish(not sure if that would be considered a word). So it would explain why she tries her hardest not to get involved with both Ellie and Braden. However Braden figures her out just by the way she acts.

Ends up that Joss and Braden has a mutual agreement not to have a relationship, just sex. you can imagine the rest of the story.

Joss is interesting(not all doe eyed and a virgin)  and Braden is a smartass, and of course hot. This is a book you can go back and reread again.

Sunny has not finished reading this so hopefully I didn't ruin it for her. If I did, too bad, so sad!

I rate it with a 4.6.

Slammed by Colleen Hoover

I just read this book this past weekend. I am not the person that cries about books most of the time, but I have to admit, I balled. The story goes with a girl in her last year of high school is moving because her Dad had passed and her mother could not afford the expenses of living in Texas. They move to Michigan. Right when they get there she meets a hot neighbor. Sparks fly as all stories go, but it turns out that he is a teacher. Her teacher. Things get complicated and in the story you see that both their pasts are similar.

Many people can relate to having dealt with illness in the family, so I think that is why it hits close to me. You will laugh, cry, smile, be aggrevated and enjoy the ups and downs of life.

I think that it deserves a 4.6 for the crying involved.

P.S. Don't think any less of me for crying!

The Fever Series

My Absolute Favorite Series!!

I have put off doing this review b/c this series if my favorite and I do not feel like I can do it justice.   Karen Marie Moning does an awesome job of describing her world to the point of you feeling like you are there and of course she constantly leaves you gasping and wanting more.  This series will technically end up with 10 books.  We have the first 5 out written from Mac's POV.  These are the original Fever books. Now there is the first of 3 books out written from Dani's POV and we are supposed to get 2 more installments from Mac. I am not going to review all of the books b/c I don't want to give anything away.

Darkfever
This book starts out with MacKayla "Mac" Lane at home in Georgia worshipping the sun. She gets a phone call from Dublin telling her that her sister Alina has been murdered. Obviously her family is destroyed by this news. Mac finds out that Alina left her a voicemail just hours before being killed. The voicemail is a rambling from Alina telling Mac there was so much she doesn't know and everything depends on them finding the Sinsar Dubh. After just a couple of weeks they learn that the Dublin Garda (police) are sending her case to the cold case department.  Mac does not think that they have given her sister's case the time and attention that it needs. She finally decides to take matters into her own hands when her parents just seem to shut down and goes to Dublin to investigate herself.  Now you have to know that Mac is a pretty in pink blond Southern Belle and of course setting off for Ireland is probably not the best idea but you have to love that she refuses to let her sister's murderer run free.
So Mac makes it to Dublin and finds out that it is a totally different world than small town Georgia.  She realizes (with some help) that she can see the Fae and there is the problem of them coming to our world from Faery.  Mac tries to figure out what Alina was talking about in her message and ends up lost one day.  She is walking in a bad area of town and finally makes it out right in front of Barrons' Book and Baubles. She walks in and asks about the Sinsar Dubh.  Of course the enigmatic owner happens to hear her and she is introduced to Jericho Barrons*sigh*.
Basically Mac learns that the Sinsar Dubh is a book and just about everyone she meets is looking for it. Most people are trying to find it b/c the walls between Man and Faery are weaking and that is how the Fae are getting through. If the walls are not strengthen they will fall and our world will never be the same.
I am not going to tell you anymore for fear of telling you too much...I feel like I have already. I will give the series on a whole 5 stars but each book is different.  Darkfever is a great introduction into this world.  I mean you get to meet a slew of characters and let me tell you in my imagination all the guys HOT HOT!!! I mean you get to meet Barrons-dark hair dark eye mystery man, Christian-adorable Scot, dreamy eyed guy-description speaks for itself and V'lane-Death by Sex Faery Prince-yes please!!  I will give Darkfever a 4.7.
Bloodfever
For me this is the weakest book in the series and was the hardest for me to get through. I actually stopped reading the series for a long time after this one. I will give this one a 3.7.
Faefever
This one got me back into the series and I was enjoying it again. Of course this one left you with your mouth hanging open and going WHAT JUST HAPPENED!!???!!!  I believe I finished this book about 1AM and thankfully had my Nook so I could go straight into the next book. This book is a 4.9.
Dreamfever
I could not put this book down!!! It is action packed from the first. I think this is my favorite even though again it ended with some tears and anger. Unfortunately for me the next installment was not out yet. I think I had to wait about 6 months. It was pure torture and I was so emotionally distraught I finally got my friends to read it so that I could talk about it. This book is a 5!
Shadowfever
This is the last book from Mac's POV for now and I love it. I think I read this book in a day and was so all over the place emotionally.  I can't even begin to tell you. I will give this book a 5 as well. If Dreamfever is my favorite then Shadowfever is a close second.

ICED
This is the first of the Dani Trilogy.  You get to see Dublin from her POV and it picks up just after Shadowfever ends.  I was really excited about this book and I am very glad she wrote it. I am not a huge Dani fan and I was not 100% satisfied with this book. I am of course still sitting in anticipation for the next book. Karen Marie Moning is the best at leaving you hanging.  I will give this book a 4.
Obviously I can't go on enough about this series. It has everything.  READ THIS SERIES!!!!!!

Falling for the Ghost of You

I saw this book on Pinterest and decided to look it up. All I can say is Nicole Christie wrote one of the funniest books I have read in awhile. I was seriously giggling constantly through the first half of the book.

The book starts out with Violet coming home from Hawaii for the summer. Don't be jealous of her...she was working all summer...no be jealous...her summer job was in HAWAII!!  Anyways, she gets back to her mother newly engaged to a man she just met and is getting a step-brother in deal as well. After finding out about all of this V goes to meet her boyfriend of a year at the high school hang out and is dumped by him since he is cheating on her with one of their friends. So Violet starts her senior year humiliated.

Her mother springs a surprise on her very quickly. She has to go on her honeymoon before the wedding and wants V to stay with a family friend. All goes well until the family friend has a family emergency and leaves. Violet has to stay with her future step-brother...Zane.  He is staying at the new house to keep an eye on renovations for the month long honeymoon. As they become friends and figure out that they have a lot in common it becomes apparent that they both find each other attractive.  Violet also figures out that Zane is keeping some huge secret from her and she can't figure out what it could be.

I have one MAJOR issue with this book. Violet is naturally blond and colors her hair darker. WHO DOES THAT?? Everyone knows blonds have more fun!!!!  Yes, I am blond :)

So I have said before that I love the happily ever afters and I read so that I can get away from reality. This book totally does it for me. Girl goes from middle class to super rich step-father and HOT step-brother (also super rich in his own right) that is totally into her...PERFECTLY UNREALISTIC & I LOVE IT!!

I would give this book 4 out of 5 stars. You should probably read this book when you need a pick me up or don't want anything too heavy.

Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi

Hola! So the follow up book to Under the Never Sky, which is Through the Never Sky is awesome! This book just came out this last Tuesday. ABSOLUTELY worth the read. It starts back up with Aria and Perry finally finding each other after months. Of course it is a love story with those two. Eventually it goes back to striving to just stay alive. Trying to find the ones you love, getting back what should have never been taken and taking care of the people around you. Perry has a lot on his shoulders and trying to keep the tribe alive and fed. Aria is seeking out Talon, who was stolen away from Perry by her own people. A great story. Leaves you wanting more. And I dont know when the next book comes out either! The next book is Into the Still Blue. My overall rating is a 4.7. READ IT! DARRA

Ella & Micha or Callie & Kayden??

Since I read The Coincidence of Callie & Kayden and The Secret of Ella & Micha back to back I thought I would review them together.

Callie & Kayden

I 100% fell in love with both Callie and Kayden! I love this book and I can't wait to see what happens in the Redemption of Callie & Kayden (coming out in Feb. 2013).

Basically, you have 2 teenagers that grew up in the same town and went to school together all of their lives but had nothing to do with each other. Callie had a horrible experience on her 12th birthday and tried to become invisible. Kayden was the quarterback and seemed to be your typical high school boy but he has been hiding a terrible secret for most of his life. One night Callie happens to be in the right place at the right time...or maybe wrong place at the right time and saves Kayden life. He wanted to pay her back but never saw her again.

They both end up at the same university but don't know it until they happen run into each other on campus. Kayden does not recognize Callie because she was finally starting to come out of her shell and live a little. It takes a while for them to get to the point of becoming friends and it is fun to experience their emotions as they try put their past behind them. They each have their best friend with them through the journey. Luke grew up with Kayden and knows some of the ghosts he fights and Callie met Seth the summer they started college. Both Luke and Seth have their own demons that they are fighting.

Jessica Sorensen leaves you with your heart in your throat and tears in your eyes. Major cliff hanger...why must authors do this to us??? I love it and hate it. I would give this book a 4.7 and recommend that you read it.

Ella & Micha

This is another book by Jessica Sorensen. I love Ella & Micha as much as Callie & Kayden and they have a sequel too! (no release date yet)

Ella & Micha grew up next door and became best friends. He has always looked after her as she has been a rule breaker with a saucy mouth her whole life. Unfortunately one night changed everything for them and Ella ran. The book begins the day she is moving out of her college dorm 8 months after she leaves town and Micha without looking back.

When she gets back in town she has changed into the exact opposite of her former self and Micha wants to pick up where they left off. She fights him (of course) but in the end she misses him and everything they had together. Micha admits that he has been in love with her for years and wants to take care of her. He continues to push her until some of her old personality starts to emerge.

The best part or maybe worst part is the fact that you Micha is going through his own personal issues and trying to figure out his own life. He has the chance of a lifetime but is he willing to leave Ella now that he just found her again? Does he tell anyone that his father is calling him after walking out and never looking back?

While this book does not leave the reader terrified and emotionally distraught you are definitely wanting more! I love the happily ever afters and I am really hoping that Ella & Micha get it in the next book (The Forever of Ella & Micha). The title makes my cheesy, romantic heart flutter! I am giving this book a 4.6 and hope that everyone likes it as much as I do.

The Coincidence of Callie & Kayden

This is by Jessica Sorenson. The book is good. Of course, another book that has a follow-up. I have so many to keep up with! It goes by the normal story about someone with baggage and a relationship. However this has two people with baggage. Both characters are likeable and he is a football player. Can't go wrong with that. I like it and the ending, all I have to say is a curse word to explain the frustration I am bearing for having to wait till Feb 28 for the next book, Callie & Kayden.
I give it a solid 4.4.

The Covenant Series

The Covenant Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout is awesome! Who doesn't love the Greek Gods and thier crazy kids!! The Hematoi are the result of  God and mortal. Two Hematoi can produce a Pure while a Hematoi and mortal produce a Half-Blood. Pures and Half-Bloods do not mix!!

This series shows the seperation of classes within this society and how it can shape these kids' lives.  Alex is a Half and can't follow any of the rules to keep her out of a life of servitude. Aiden is a Pure and is absolutley perfect.  Alex has a major crush on Aiden but rule #1 is Pures and Half-Bloods can't be together.

To throw a wrench in everything you get Seth. The Apollynon or God Killer.  There is something about Seth *sigh* He shows up and wants Alex too. The nice thing about Alex is that she is not a damsel in distress. She is training to be a Sentinel and can kick butt with the best of them.

I would give this series a 4.7 and I going through withdrawls waiting for the next book to come out. Jennifer L. Armentrout definitely does a great job of leaving you wanting more.

Ruining Me

Ruining Me is the first book in this set. Nicole Reed has taken you far beyond teenage angst in this novel. For those you who don't know me, I am all about the happily ever afters.

The book opens at the beginning of Jay Stevenson's senior year of high school.  You get to see how she has distanced herself from friends and family over the last 2 years and how it is affecting everyone around her. She has her perfect ex-boyfriend who is still in love with her and does not understand what went wrong. Next is the rocker ex-boyfriend that will not leave her alone. Finally you meet her possible future older boyfriend who does not judge her for her past. I read this book in about 6 hours. I could not put it down!

This book did not give me my happily ever after but I can't wait until the sequel Ruining You comes out on January 29.  Hopefully you will read this book and be as emotionally distraught as I was.

The other books I can't take credit for

So Sunny, the other reader on ths blog will be giving her ratings on the following books/series. Since I was not the first to read them, she will give you the lowdown on how she liked them. I have read these books too and don't think there was one I didn't like.
The Fever Series
The Covenant Series
Ruining It

There are so many more books we have read but I am too lazy to go over all of them. We will try to keep up moving forward!

Under the Never Sky

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi. Just read this one. The new one that is coming out will be out this next week is Through the Ever Night. This book is a mix of the movies and book The Hunger Games/The 5th Element and The Road. Aria and the main character that is trying to make it through the new world and just live. Perry is a guy she runs into that has lived and adapted to the outside world. The book is mainly focused on the Surival of everyone. Looking forward to the next book and will blog about it once it is read. Probably by Friday of next week.

Rating for the book is 4.7

Hopeless

Hopeless from Samantha Young. I saw a few review's from other bloggers and gave it a try. Loved it! Takes place when Sky is a Senior and about to turn 18. She runs into a Hotty(Holder) and so many things happen afterwards. She finds out more about her past and questions all the people she did or did not know. This book has a oh, Sh*t moments. Many things happen that I did not expect. Could not put it down.

I have a tendency to read books within a couple of days, but this was a 1 dayer. My rating 4.7

Beautiful and Walking Disaster

Two books by Jamie McGuire. Beautiful Disaster came out earlier in 2012. I love Travis Maddox! It was a good but and looking forward to Walking Disaster. That book is the POV of Travis instead of Abby. It takes place in the College where Abby is trying to run away from her past. Totally worth it. I believe Walking is coming out in April.

My rating for this is 4.6

Abbi Glines books

There are many books for hers that I have read. So to start with the latest is Fallen Too Far. Great book. Most her books are love story's. Fallen is to but has a twist to it and will have a followup book coming out later this year. Another cliffhanger book. All these books with guys that have 6 packs, can't go wrong.
Rating 4.5
While it Lasts is another book of hers. Because of Low is a followup to While it Lasts. I haven't read that one yet. While it lasts is good. You have to love baseball players! Cage is the guy everyone swoons for. Rating of 4.4
AND The Vincent Boys. Love, love, love Beau. Good guy, bad guy and girl conflicted. Need I say more? The rating for this book is another 4.4.
I am in process of reading the follow-up book The Vincent Brothers. Keep you posted.

In The Dark Duet

There is Captive in the Dark and Seduced in the Dark by C.J. Roberts. NOTE: These books are for ADULTS only. Essentially it is about human trafficking. However there is a story between the two people. It is a love/hate feel for the characters. You will like Olivia but Caleb, you will become bipolar. Part of you hates him but the other side you are in love with him. Absolutely on my favorite list. It is shocking, unpredictable and different. I don't think that I will read another book similar to this. Check it out!

My ratings 4.7

The Lux Books

I am going through all my favorites. The Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I try to stay away from these words but OMFG, I love Daemon. Story goes Katie moves to a new town and has a next door neighbor that is worth a look. He is a smart ass, fantastic looking and has a streak of a sweet side. He is the full package. The books are essentially about aliens. But don't let that chnge your mind from reading it. AMAZING story and the next book is coming out in late Spring. Opal was the last book. The cliff hanger is killer!

We happen to be lucky and the author did a book tour to Houston this past December and had the chance to meet Jennifer along with Pepe(the guy on the front of the books). Got to have lunch with them and both Jennifer and Pepe were amazing people. Very difficult to sit next to him, too good loowww.jenniferaremtrout.comking for his own good.  I need to put up the pictures of us with the two.
Here is her website.

Overall the books get a 4.8 on my list.

Starting the list of books that we recommend

We, as meaning Sunny(the other obssesive reader) and I have started reading many series of books that have tortured us. One of many is the Heller series. I was not a fan of the cover of the book. Yes, the cover should not matter, however it still does. ANYWAYS, it is a series from a Australian author, J.D. Nixon. Not sure how I found these books, but it is worth your time. The books are about a women that finds a security job that is owned by Heller. Ladies-if you have a favorite guy list, he will be on there. I believe the last book of the series is coming out in the spring. Read it, seriously. It is funny, stupid, sexy, and is good for the easy reader. Overall, I give them a 4.6.

Look for Heller's Decision coming out in the Spring-Summer!
