Happy Release Day!!!

Prayer for the Dead Release Day.

This is the story about a girl who lived, died, and met a guy… in that order.
Is it possible to find true love and happiness, while condemned to purgatory until the ends of days?
Olivia Brennan wasn’t eager to find out. Working for a division of Purgatory and Associates, her job consisted of one headache after another, caused by the impatient souls waiting to move onto eternal paradise. After a hard day at work, she was most content to stay home, watching reruns or reading a book. Aside from a few friends occasionally forcing socialization, her afterlife was nothing special.
That all changed the moment Drake walked into her life. He was handsome, charming, and had a sadness behind his eyes she could relate to. It seemed that Fate had finally brought her a kindred spirit…

But could Olivia move past her own dark regrets of the life she left behind or would falling for him demand the ultimate sacrifice—herself?

Sounds AWESOME right?

I stole a peek across the desk at the blonde in a cheerleader’s uniform. The young face was scrunched up in an unflattering scowl, sizing me up as she smacked her gum. The behavior was rude but since she’d just been through a major upheaval, I gave Chelsea some leeway. I decided comfort was a better option as opposed to discipline. So I chose to break the ice with the tried and true standbys of compassion and hospitality.

“Hello Chelsea, my name is Olivia and I’m going to be your liaison.”

Chelsea and I stared at each other in silence. Besides being given the cold shoulder, there was something about this girl rubbing me the wrong way. She reminded me of someone, but I couldn’t place whom.

I forced a smile in her direction. “Did your Reaper explain everything to you?” Receiving nothing more than an eye roll in response, I tried again. “You understand where you are and what’s happened, correct?”

“Yeah, I know where I am. Wanna know why?” I raised my brows, waiting for the smart-mouthed answer that was sure to come, “Because I’m not stupid.”

Oh right… I knew who she reminded me of, every snotty bitch that made my high school experience a living hell. Oh boy, lucky me, I get to put up with her for the next week.

Why can’t I ever just get a nice old lady who’ll sit with her hands folded neatly in her lap and patiently await her turn? Her silver hair would be curled in a halo around a tiny face, she’d call me “dear”, and, when I’d apologize for the wait, she’d pat my hand saying, “It’s all right, honey. I’m in no hurry.” But no, instead I get Chelsea the cheerleader.

I hate cheerleaders.

Wrecked by H. P. Landry!

Mylie Mier's life is overshadowed by tragedy and heartbreak.

She refuses to settle for Mr. Right Now and is holding out for her happily ever after. Then she meets Damien James.

Arriving in Pointe Hope was the pinnacle of Damien James' success.

He finally had everything he worked so hard for and life is going as planned--until he catches a predator attempting to defile a helpless victim. Mylie enters his life with the all the subtleness of a freight train.

Their connection is instantaneous but Damien is jaded and refuses to acknowledge his attraction. Though mesmerized, Mylie quickly realizes that her savior is a pretentious jerk. They fight their obvious connection, and Damien inadvertently pushes Mylie right into the arms of a sociopath.

Will Mylie live to see her happily ever after or will Damien's callousness force her to be destined to a life that is wrecked?

Sunny's Review:

I really liked this book. The beginning is gut wrenching. I mean the feelings that the author brings out are so realistic. You really feel what is going on. I like Mylie in that she is a strong person and does not really take crap from anyone. Damien is awesome b/c he is really planning on telling her to just go away. He can't stay away from her and is constantly saving her. Let's face it...we all know I am waiting a knight in shining armor so Damien kinda does it for me.  There is some mystery which I really like.  There was a nice twist at the end and I was afraid that it was one that I was going to have seen in other books but it wasn't. You should really go get this book.

I am giving this book 4 out of 5 stars. Go get it and love it!!!

The Perfect Distraction Cover Reveal!!!

PD_ElectronicCover   TITLE - The Perfect Distraction (Book #1) AUTHOR - Melissa Rolka GENRE - New Adult EXPECTED RELEASE DATE - October 1, 2013 HOSTED BY - Love Between the Sheets

BOOK DESCRIPTION - When Katherine “Kate” leaves for her freshmen year at college, a grounded and stable piece of her is missing. She pushes away the ghosts of her past, determined to start her college life single, carefree and distracted.

Throughout high school Kate was reserved and shy, with little experience. Now, on her own, with little holding her back, Kate is ready to branch out. She bonds with a tight knit group of friends and even starts casually dating. What starts out as innocent flirting on the tennis courts slowly turns into a friendship and eventually something more complex. Reed comes into her life giving her the distraction she craves more than anything; but is she ready to give her heart away so easily?

Things get complicated when Kate’s ex-boyfriend and first love continues to pursue her. Kyle deeply regrets breaking her heart when he left for college the year before and is now on a mission to reclaim her. Kyle’s persistence and relentlessness is nothing short of obsessive. He will stop at nothing to win her back and prove his love.

Kate finds herself torn between her past and the unknown of the future. Her determination to stay distracted may just be her downfall or the beginning of something new and wonderful.
I don’t even care that there are now three different girls talking to Reed. I sneak up behind him and tap him on the shoulder. He turns around and the look of shock and surprise on his face causes me to start giggling. He turns completely around with his back to the other three girls and gives me a smile that touches his blue eyes. His squared jaw highlights his smile perfectly. In this instant of a moment I decide I want to kiss Reed even if it’s just for fun and to forget.“You’re kidding me. Wow! I can’t believe you came here.” “I told you we would. You didn’t think I would do it, did you?” “Honestly, no, but I was hoping. I never see you out on the weekends anymore, so this is a great surprise.” We stand there for a minute and then he orders me a beer. I take it, but nurse it. I’ve had a bit much already and don’t want the spins. He asks me and Quinn to play a game of pool with him and Matt. Matt wants to play girls against guys, but Reed says no way that he wants me on his team. I warn him that I am not that good, but alcohol may help my case. We play the game and I actually do pretty well. Reed touches me every chance he gets and is very flirty. It’s my turn and I have to bend over to make a shot, but to be honest I forget that I have a dress on. “Shit, Katherine,” he lets out in a bit of gruff tone and walks up behind me to cover me. I laugh at him. “Oops, I forgot about my dress.” “You look good enough as it is and now with a dress on. Jesus, I don’t need to get in a fight.” He is still pressed behind me as I continue to make my shot. I miss completely because to be honest I’m completely distracted. “I doubt anyone noticed, but thanks for protecting me.” He steps back and I turn around. I decide to be bold and kiss his cheek. “Trust me, you were noticed.” He moves a piece of hair from my face and the touch sends a chill through me. “God, you are so beautiful.”
Melissa Rolka grew up in the Chicagoland area all of her childhood and has always had a love of writing. She started by keeping a journal at a young age and then in high school she started writing poetry. A couple poems were published anonymously. Then in college she majored in Philosophy, which required lots and lots of writing. After graduating from Marquette University she traveled west to Los Angeles. There she worked for the Writers Guild of America and found herself submerged in the writers world. She worked on small writings, but never pursued them. On the side she became involved with a small theater group. Eventually she made her way back to the Midwest, where her heart belongs, and worked in business for several years. She found love, got married and has two beautiful children. Being at home has allowed her to keep following her love of reading and writing. The Perfect Distraction is her first full length novel. A second continuation of this story is in the works with hopes for a third. When Melissa is not writing she is caring for, playing with and loving her two kids. In between taking care of her family and writing she almost always has her nose buried in her Kindle.

Who am I?
Fuck if I know.
I step out of a scalding hot shower, humidity filling the bathroom, the air weighing so heavy it's hard to breathe.  I can relate.  I wrap a towel around my waist and feel my way to the sink.  Who am I?  This question continues to plague me.  My eyes crawl up to the mirror begging for an answer, but a buildup of moisture prevents me from seeing my reflection.  I place my fists on either side of it, rub the steam off with my palm, and stare.  As I contemplate this question, the only thing I'm left with are blank eyes looking back at me.  I know this shouldn't be, but it is.  I'm a devoted son, responsible brother, trusted friend, excellent student, and a good fuck.  I’ve been told I'm talented.  And I suppose things come easy to me.  My life seems perfect.
There shouldn't be anything missing right?  Wrong.
There is.
I only wish I knew what it was.

I am a wife, a mom, an author, and a lover of all things chocolate, well, anything sweet really. While stuffing chocolate in my face, I enjoy reading young adult and new adult novels furiously, and spending time with my husband and two adorable children who keep me on my peppermint pink painted toes. Those same children who inspire me to tell silly stories that cause hysterical giggles to tumble from their bellies. I love to laugh and love to have a good cry, especially after reading a novel that stretches my soul, one that makes me feel, and lingers in the corner of my heart. I’m a hopeless romantic and a happily ever after fanatic, and I love to write about LOVE. I began writing when I was in middle school, penning anything from short stories, to poetry, and then later moved on to write children’s books. I have now endeavored into New Adult and Contemporary Romance novels and am loving every minute of it. My first novel, Love Love, was released in May, 2013.

LOVE LOVE by Beth Michele is currently on sale for only $0.99 for a LIMITED TIME

LOVE in the Time of the DEAD by Tera Shanley!!

Laney Landry has been fighting Deads alongside her brother and friends for three years. But she has a secret. She's immune to Dead bites and has to find the right people to trust with the information. Her team rallies around her to find a doctor who can extract a vaccine from Laney which could fight the virus that ended the world.

Sean Daniels leads a colony that provides her team with much needed shelter and supplies. He is obviously interested in Laney. The question is whether he's only intrigued by her as a source for the possible vaccine, or for something more. Tests for the cure might push her body beyond what it can endure, and just as she faces a ghost from her past, her longtime teammate Derek Mitchell hints at an interest in more than just her Dead slaying abilities.

Two honorable and alluring men - one colossal decision to make. Despite historically bad taste in men, can she rise above the chaos of the apocalypse and choose the one who deserves her heart? The right choice could mean the difference between surviving...and living.

About the Author:

Born and raised in small town Texas, Tera Shanley grew up in books. Her cousin gifted her a signed copy of Beauty by Bill Wallace when she was young and that was it for her. So smitten was she with getting lost in a story, that while other eleven year olds her age were groaning at the accelerated reader program in school, she was racking up the points just for fun.

Balancing chronic book-wormyness is her devotion to the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, camping - her soul is happiest out of doors. And lucky for Tera, her family feels the same. She grew up a wild child helping her grandma ranch cattle, and has a hundred memories out in the wilderness which tend to influence her books.

When she's not eating chocolate, slinging rifles, or soaking up some sun, she's lost in a book, but these days it's more often one she's writing. From historic western romance, to paranormal romance, to apocalyptic (zombie) romance, the genre doesn't matter quite as much to her as the love story.

She currently lives with her husband and two young children, and is owned by two crazy mini-cujos.

New Adult. Recommended for 18 and above. Mature themes, sexual situations, and profanity.

Sunny's Review:

So most of you know that my absolute 100% FAVORITE series deals with Faeries. Of course I am going to LOVE this book. I don't know what it is about these worlds that fascinate me but they do.  I think Darra's email when we got this tour invite was "Bad Boy Demi God...All YOU!" and she was correct.
I like that Quinn owns up to her mistakes and is not anyone's doormat. She fights and will put her opinion in as needed. Even when things happen to weaken her she is strong and wants to stand on her own two feet.  Arik is awesome. Yes I realize he has problems and isn't the perfect knight in shining armor but he really is amazing (and on my list!). He stands by what he did/said in the heat of the moment. I realize this isn't a good thing but he does have ulterior motives. I was not bored at all in this book.  I am really a dork and loved that they named their swords. One of my favorite things.  I can't wait to see what happens!
I am giving this book 4.4 stars out of 5! Go get it and ENJOY!!!

Darra's Review:

What can I say. I heart rock guys. Talon is a drummer, which is a new one for me. I liked this book because it actually had a different background. It was him that had the rough past. And the tragedy he went through is nothing like I have read before. Which is pretty shocking since I average 2.5 books a week.
Eaven was meant for Talon. Talon can't help but be smitten with Eaven. She is immediately into Talon despite his withdrawn personality. You learn more about what happen to Talon and can't help but love him and understand why he is the way he is. He is so sweet to her and only wants to take care of her. He has the perfect qualities: Sweet, Hot & is in a band.

It is a good story with great characters. Check out my review on Thursday for the 2nd book of the series, Heaven Scent. Another good book!

I rate this book a 4.1

Mercurial and charming, Tate Larson is a rising author and playboy who has a different woman on his arm every night of the week. Focused on his work, Tate has no plans to settle down any time soon. That is until he meets his pretty new assistant, Piper Donovan.

Desperate to escape the promise of backwater living, Piper ditched her Alabama hometown and never looked back. That was almost two years ago. Now that she is out of a job and her bank account is running on fumes, she’s desperate to find a job, fast. She finds the break she is searching for when she lands a position at Bookish Temptations. A little dancing and a lot of drinks with the girls seem the perfect way to celebrate. After a brief but explosive encounter with a man she was never supposed to see again turns out to be the same man she will be bending over backwards to please, her every instinct tells her to run. But when running means leaving the life she has struggled so hard to create, Piper decides her only option is to continue working for the devastatingly sexy Tate Larson...even if it kills her.

Unable to deny their growing attraction, they struggle to keep their distance in a relationship that requires anything but.

Sunny's Review:

Tate takes being a jerk of a boss & playboy to a whole new level. He is seriously trying to push his limits with Piper. You have to give her credit for putting up with him & all of his issues. I loved the back & forth with these two. The banter is awesome although I did want to yell at Piper for not telling Tate off several times.

You can't help but falling in love with both characters in this book. It is funny & sweet as well as highly frustrating. I am giving it 4.2 stars out of 5. Go get this book!

Sunny's Review:

One of the first series I was into growing up was Ed McBain's 87th Precinct. My dad would give them to me after he finished reading them along with true crime novels. I was really looking forward to reading this book since it is a little bit different from the books we normally review.

I really liked this book. You have Jarrod who is really kind of awesome. I love the way he is just super frank with people & doesn't really care what they think. I like that once he meets Stacey he really tries to show her he cares. I also like that he caes about his career, his family & his best friend. Stacey is great too. She works hard & takes care of her sick father. I really don't want to give too much away but just know that I was hooked from the very beginning.

I am going to give this book 4.4 stars out of 5. I recommend you go buy it ASAP! Before you do that I have a all know that writers amaze me. I don't have a creative bone in my body so I love people that can create, music, writing etc. So you know that I am super excited that W.S. Greer took the time to answer some questions!!!!

An Interview with W.S. Greer!!!!! (so excited!!)

Sunny:   What made you want to write this story?  Is there a particular case that caught your attention or have you always been interested in serial killer/crime books?
W.S.: My wife and I had been discussing attempting to write a book because we are avid readers.  One day, while we were outside shoveling snow, a question just popped into my head: would you tell on a loved one if they were a serial killer?  I asked my wife the question and the conversation we had after that just expanded and I knew I had a great story.  I went inside and wrote the prologue that night.  The rest is history.
S:    Why set it in Alaska?
W:  I set Frozen Secrets in Anchorage because Frozen Secrets was my first book and I wanted it to be as easy as possible to write.  So, I chose the place that I was living in at the time, which was Anchorage, Alaska.  That is also the reason that Stacey & Jarrod have so many physical similarities to my wife & I.
S:    How hard was it to write as a cop? Did you have to do a lot of research on methods?
W:  Surprisingly, it wasn’t hard to write as a cop.  I did have to do some research into the Anchorage Police Department to make sure I was accurate in what I was saying, but with so many cop shows and detective movies out there it actually wasn’t that hard.
S:    What authors influence you?
W:  There really aren’t many, truthfully.  Suzanne Collins is probably my biggest influence ( I LOVED the Hunger Games Trilogy!).  But I love suspense authors like Harlan Coben and Linwood Barclay.  I love suspense and thriller books
S:    Are we going to see more of Jarrod or maybe more of Marcus?
W:  This is the first time I have been asked this question, and I am glad to say that we absolutely will be seeing more of Jarrod and Marcus.  We will see Stacy and Danielle also!  I’m not sure when I will write it, but Jarrod and Marcus will handle my next crime novel!
S:    I saw that you have Claiming Carter coming out in November…what made you want to go more towards erotic?
W:  So glad you asked this question!  I absolutely love Claiming Carter!  I wanted to go more towards erotic because I couldn't do it in Frozen Secrets.  The sex scenes in FS are fade to black because I didn't feel comfortable writing the scenes.  I wanted to get over the “fear” and see if I could write a graphic sex scene.  I am so glad I got over it and just started writing.  Also, I hear so much about book boyfriends and how a character can be adored by it’s readers, so I took it as a challenge also to see if I could create a BBF.  This may cause a stir (or maybe some backlash), but truthfully, Kelvin Carter Jr. is my own version of Christian Grey (*gasp*).  I promise, he will not disappoint.
S:    What is one thing that none of your readers know about you that would TOTALLY shock them?
W:  There is probably a few things, honestly.  LOL.  But I’ll pick the fact that I am a singer.  I have recorded multiple albums and was actually pursuing music well before I was ever interested in reading, let alone writing.
S:    What is your favorite part of being an author?

W:  I just love the writing process.  Creating a story out of thin air is a gift that a lot of people don't have, and I am so thankful that I have it.  it’s like being the director of your own movie and the reader gets to open your book and live inside your imagination for a while.  That is an amazing feeling.
S:    Do you read your books after you are done?
W:  Besides multiple editing passes... not yet.  Until you asked the question, I hadn't realized that I haven't read Frozen Secrets as a fan of reading yet.  I’ll have to add it to my TBR now!
S: How do you feel when you finish a book? Relieved, sad, happy…
W:  I felt worried when I finished Frozen Secrets.  As a writer, all I want is for people to enjoy the book, and once you put it out, you get to hear how people feel about it.  People can be brutal in their reviews.  I just didn't want people to hate it.  I have been very pleasantly surprised that there are way more people who love it than the few who don’t.

Honestly I think I might like this book even more after this interview. Thank you sooooo sooooo much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to tell us a little bit more about you. I can't wait to read more!!!

And I look forward to taking my entire family along on this amazing journey that I know is waiting for us in the near future. I want to give a special thanks to all of my family and fans that have shown so much support!! You guys mean the world to me and I appreciate all of the love and support more than I could ever explain!!
