Sooooooo.....I have several books that I am waiting to read and have them on "Jericho" (my Nook) but apparently I am in the mood to reread...
So far this week I have read Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Of course, Daemon sucked me in again. Totally obsessing about him....he really is awesome in a very jerkish way (and yes I realize I make up my own words sometimes). Now I want to finish this series and I am all upset that the next book doesn't come out until JULY!!!! So to try to pace myself I started Wait For You last night (again by Jennifer L. Armentrout). I know...I just read it this weekend but I have not stopped thinking about it since I finished it. Every once in a while I will read a book that makes me want to restart it as soon as I finish...and this book is one of them.
Darra is reading Taking Chances by Molly McAdams. I read it a couple of weeks ago so last night I received a hateful text from her. She got to "THAT" part!!! UGH!!!!!!! So this morning we rehashed it and now I kinda want to read that one again but I don't know if I should put myself back in that emotional turmoil...although I CAN'T wait for Stealing Harper to come out in JUNE!!!! It is Chase's POV and I can only imagine my reaction to that...I really can't wait but I am so nervous. I think I will have to have lots of kleenex, chocolate and CareBear movies for afterwards...
I think after Wait For You I may go back to On Dublin Street. I don't feel like I gave Braden enough thought.
Do you have a book that you want to reread as soon as you are finished? Or do you have a book that you read every couple of months or at least once a year? I reread the Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning several times a year. I can't get enough...I also read Pride and Prejudice about once a year. Every couple of years I read The Iliad--love Greek mythology.

Fighting for Flight by J B Salsbury
This book is a little bit different. Raven is the daughter of Las Vegas' most notorious pimp Dominick Morretti and his best prostitute. She did not have much to do with her father growing up and does not really acknowledge the relationship. Her mother basically ignored her for the majority of her life. As soon as she could she moved out of her mother's house and found work as a mechanic. The shop she works for is run by Guy who is the closest to a parent figure she has ever had. Jonah is a UFL fighter (UFC basically) that is preparing for his heavy weight championship fight. His whole career is hanging on this fight and he has never been defeated. Jonah is a also not looking for any type of relationship. No girl has ever been anything to him other than a quick release of built up stress.
Jonah comes to find a mechanic to rebuild one of his cars. When he meets Raven he is surprisingly interested in her. They begin working together and he realizes that she is fun, smart and everything he didn't know he is looking for. Raven turns 21 the night after his big fight. So about a week before Dominick calls her to a meeting stating that upon her 21st birthday she is to join "the business" by replacing her mother. She is revolted and tells him no. Of course he threatens all of the people she loves from her best friend, Guy and Jonah. When Jonah finds out what Dominick has planned for her he goes to Dominick to try to buy her freedom. Dominick tells him to throw his championship fight he will let Raven go. So now Jonah has to decide if he should throw away everything he has worked for...
This is an awesome book. You have to love Raven and Jonah. First off-who doesn't love fighters? I mean YUMMY!!!! Raven has taken care of herself her whole life and obviously has a big heart. It makes you wonder how she ended up a good person with so much stacked against her. Jonah starts out kinda like a jerk but at the same time he is there for his friends and just totally focused on what he wants.
I would give this book a 4.2 out of 5. This is a series in that the next book will be focusing on Jonah's best friend, Blake. I usually don't like when authors do this but I am willing to give it a try b/c Blake was pretty funny and you have to really like him. So I will let you know if it worth the read once it comes out.
Happy Tuesday!!

Purchase book at:
Jessica Guest Reveiwer!!! Defending Jacob by William Landay
“Defending Jacob” by William Landay
Released January 2012
Book Review by Jessica
McClenny Waites
The law, the Justice
system, the twists and turns of a murder trial is intriguing on its own. “Defending Jacob” by William Landay presents
to us a case of a child accused of murder, while at the same time, making us an
eye witness to the heartbreaking situation of a family being ripped apart.
Assistant DA, Andy
Barber, lives in a pristine suburban community in Massachusetts with his loving
wife and 14 year old son Jacob. Yes, the
same Jacob of whom the title of the book refers. When a nasty murder of a 14 year old
classmate of Jacob’s takes place, the town panics, as any close-knit, suburban
community would. The parents of the
murdered boy are devastated and the townspeople are determined to protect their
children from a murderer. I can give you
two questions that generally sum up the beginning of this novel. “Why did this happen to us?” and “How can
anyone murder a child?” It’s time for
answers.
As assistant DA, Andy
Barber, volunteers to take the case.
There are no suspects right away and the classmates of the victim are
not talking. We are led to the somewhat
obvious conclusion that the murdered boy was not a saint. We also find out about a disturbing local man
who was nearby at the time of the crime.
But, it is not that long before the pretty little world of Andy Barber’s
turns ugly when his son’s bloody fingerprint is found on the victim’s shirt. Andy vows to see this through to the end and
prove that his son is not guilty.
This is a fantastic
premise that seems unbelievable at first.
What are the odds that an Assistant DA’s son will be charged with
murder? Since we are seeing this through
Andy’s eyes, it sounds like an easy ploy to have the main character provide us
with all the technical knowledge of the law, while describing to us firsthand
the feelings a parent would have in this situation. The author covers his bases and once the
accusation of murder is made, it is hard to not want to see this through to the
end. Speaking of the end, I will not say
what it is, but if you’re a fan of the big twist, you won’t be
disappointed.
When you read
“Defending Jacob” you will be right there with the Barbers during their
nightmare. A couple of shady characters
and a big family secret will only throw a few more wrenches into this already
bad situation. This is a fast-paced court
room drama seen through the eyes of man in the most desperate situation…to save
his child. I highly recommend!
Thanks!!! Jessica ;)

Nicole Reed's Blog--Rhye's POV
Are you totally floored now???? I am too...I had to send an email to Darra since she is living the leisurely life today (or maybe she is home sick--whatever). I really never thought it would be him!!
The title of this post is Nicole Reed Does It Again--what she did--she totally rocked my emotional equilibrium. I mean I can't decide if I totally love it or hate it...I am sitting at my desk with my mouth hanging open and eyes tearing up...I mean I am so not an emotional person but she knows how to get me...does anyone else have an author that does this to them? Someone that just rocks your world whether they make you so angry you want to throw your book across the room (Molly McAdams, Taking Chances), cry like a baby (Nicole Reed, Ruining Me) or go curl up with the love of your life b/c your newest book boyfriend is sooooooo freaking sigh worthy (Jennifer L. A Lot Going On In The Book World!
Wait For You by J. Lynn (Jennifer L. Armentrout)
Ok...so Wait For You is doing really well and Jennifer is being super awesome and dropped the price on Barnes and Noble and Amazon to $0.99 until Tuesday!!! I HIGHLY recommend you go buy it NOW!!! This book was so good...I finished it in less than a day and had to stop myself from just going back to page 1 and rereading it. It has been a long time since I have wanted to do that. Check out Darra's review or our cover reveal post to get more info on the book. Again--GO BUY IT NOW!!!!
J.D. Nixon on Smashwords
I feel like Darra and I have not given J.D. Nixon enough praise on this blog. She is freaking awesome. She has 2 series out and we have read all the books for both and are anxiously awaiting the next installment. I am bringing this up b/c this week is E-Reader week and Smashwords is having a big sale. All of J.D.Nixon's books are half price!!!
Heller by J.D. Nixon
This book is about Tilly and Heller. Tilly is a 20 something girl that has no real goals/motivation in life other than not having to move back in with her parents. She is an "actress" and she is basically living in the slums and still barely making rent. She sees an ad for a security and survellience company and applies for the job. She is not qualified in any way for this but still gets hired. Heller is the owner of the company and let me tell you...he has held the #1 spot for human book boyfriend since the moment I read the first book. He is freaking HOT and BLOND and BLUE EYED and YUMMY!!!!! Anyways, Heller hires Tilly and the book is freaking hilarious. It is all about her escapades as security guard. I can not say it enough...go to smashwords and buy all of these books. Barnes and Noble has the first book free!!!
Little Town Series by J.D. Nixon
This book is about Tessie. She is a cop in a small town that she and her family has lived in since the town was settled. Basically from the beginning of time the Bycraft men have been obsessed with the Fuller women. By obsessed I mean they want them so badly that they use them and then murder them. Tessie has to try to keep the Bycrafts under control in her little town. Just picture the most white trash, hill-billy heathens and you will get a small idea of the Bycrafts. They are horrible!!! This book takes the Hatfields and McCoys to a whole new level. You should really read this series. The first book Blood Ties is free (I think on Barnes and Noble).

Sunny's Take on Never Too Far by Abbi Glines
I am not going to go into detail on what the book is about b/c Darra already did that. Hopefully you have read Fallen Too Far before you read this b/c there will probably be spoilers.
So the book picks up 3 weeks after Blair finds out that her whole life was a lie and Rush had kept everything from her. She runs back to Alabama and then realizes there is nothing there for her either. Luckily, Bethy really cares about her and basically comes to rescue her. Blair goes back and tries to face her future.
I really liked the book. I loved Rush and Blair in Fallen Too Far. I was really looking forward to seeing what happened and how they were going to deal with each other. Unfortunately, I really felt like this book was rushed (no pun intended). I just really felt like there were so many more conversations that could have been had. Rush and Nan conversations. Maybe a little bit more conflict with the whole Meg situation.
So Abbi Glines has decided to write a third book for Rush and Blair. I am hoping that it will be longer and a little more in depth than Never Too Far. I mean don't get me wrong...I will reread this book b/c the first one was so awesome but I don't know. The good thing about this book is it made almost want to read Woods' story. I don't usually like books based on other characters in the original books. So the fact that I kind of want to know more about Woods is good. I am putting the link on this review for the bonus chapter to Never Too Far. This will set up for the 3rd book. Do NOT click on this link if you have not read Never Too Far!
Honestly, I would probably give this book a 3.6 out of 5. I know a lot of people gave it a 5 out of 5 but I just can't. I would recommend this book just b/c I loved the first one so much. I am really hoping the third will be awesome.

Wait For You!!!!!!
And finally we got a new book from Jennifer Armentrout! It has been a whole 3 months since the last book of hers came out. She should write a book for each month of the year. That way I can have an official book boyfriend for each month!
This is one of her adult books. This is about Avery, a girl who moved from Texas(just outside of Houston, that is me!) to West Virginia to go to college. Trying to get away from her past where she lived before and start over where no one knows her. Her first class she runs into a guy name Cam. Literally, runs into him. And literally runs from him. He is super hot. Black hair, blue eyes, the whole body down to the cuts on his hips. She can't stand being late and so she skips Astronomy all together. Later in the day, she almost gets run over...by Cam. She goes to her apartment and there is a party just a couple of doors down from her apartment. And she can't help but wonder who lives there. Guess...just guess? Of course, Cam along with Ollie his best friend. And don't forget Raphael, his pet turtle. You have to love a guy that names his turtle after a character on the cartoon Teenage Muntact Ninja Turtles!
Anyways, she has two friends, Jacob and Brit, who give her the low down on the well known playboy, Cameron. Since Avery had so much baggage from what happened to her back home, she was not looking for a guy. She was extremely inexperienced when it came to guys and sex. But this guy was hot. See got him as a partner in Astromony so that gave her even more Cam time. And Cam seemed interested in her.
One of the many things I liked about Cameron was he kept asking her out. She said no because she thought it would be doomed. However he always found a way to sneak in a "Go out with me" into a conversation. Always made you laugh.
Of course things happen and they grow close. So it was just a matter of letting him know her secrets. And the same for him. That is the hard part for both of them. I can't tell you the story of what happened to her. That would just ruin it for you!
Overall...I love Cam. Not as much as Daemon, her other guy she writes about in the Lux Series, but close. He has a little bit of personality from Daemon, Seth and Aedin. Funny, sexy, smartass and super sweet. You can definitely say he is swoon worthy.
Read the Book. This is MANDATORY!
I give the book a 4.4
I give Cam a 9 out of 10!
