After catching her husband in a compromising position, Finley Granger finds herself in a new hell: reentering the dating world. When she moves in with her grandmother, her great-aunt, and their best friend, Finley finds herself surrounded by a trio of well-meaning yet bumbling matchmakers.
In spite of their efforts, Finley only has eyes for one person, and that’s Zeke Masters—the 6’4”, impossibly built, and ridiculously good-looking new man in town. Along with her nether regions, Finley’s journalistic spidey-senses tingle as to why he’s on sabbatical from Seattle. Is he on the lam or escaping a bad breakup? What’s his story?!?!
As Finley finds herself reluctantly drawn to the gorgeous IT guy, she can’t help but wonder: should she indulge in a rebound tryst with the mysterious Zeke, or has she finally met her match?
‘Shelf Awareness’ is a full-length contemporary romantic comedy, can be read as a standalone, and is book #4 in the Green Valley Library series, Green Valley World, Penny Reid Book Universe.

Darra's Review:
This is such a bitter sweet story. Don't worry, only bitter in the beginning! All but 3 characters were lovable and it makes you like the Green Valley town. Which is always questionable when the town is so small and gossip is so loud.
Finley was given a crap hand in the beginning, but life moves her back to live with Grambea and the trio of ladies. I guess the saying "when one door closes, another opens" is exacting what this book is about.
And about Zeke, whats not to like? He is amazing and you will have to read the book to agree with me.
A great book that you should check out. I rate the book a 4.4 out of 5.

Except
As Zeke worked on uploading the census records, I hoisted one of the many boxes from the Henderson’s donation onto the table. It kicked up an epic dust cloud. I reached inside to pluck out one of the moldering tomes of historical literature. Wrinkling my nose, I fought the urge to sneeze. Instead, I cleared my throat. When it still felt like I had swallowed a wad of sawdust, I coughed. And that was my grievous mistake. The force of the cough dislodged the Ben Wa ball, sending it into an epic downward dive. Yes, ladies and gentlemen the Ben Wa ball had left the building. Whirling away from Zeke, I used my hand to try an inconspicuous crotch shuffle to send the ball back to its point of origin. What happened next was truly against the laws of motion. Because the universe apparently hated me, the ball escaped the confines of my thong. As it started its descent down my thigh, I squeaked and clamped my knees together. “Are you all right?” Zeke asked behind me. I threw a glance at him over my shoulder. “Uh, yeah, I . . .” Okay, I had no idea how I was going to get out of this one. It wasn’t like I could say, “Well, here’s the thing. The Ben Wa ball I was using to strengthen my pelvic floor muscles to keep my vagina healthy for the D just slipped out and is about to make a very unhappy trail down my leg.” “I think a bug bit me or something.” “Oh no. Want me to take a look?” “No!” When Zeke’s eyes widened at my outburst, I said, “Sorry. I’m okay.” “If you’re sure.” “Totally.” “I think I might’ve found something interesting for your research.” The only thing I was interested in at the moment was getting the Ben Wa ball out of my pants without Zeke seeing it. “Oh?” “I definitely see some Native American female names.” Damn him for being enthusiastic about my research. The last thing I wanted to do was walk the couple of steps back over to him while trying to keep a Ben Wa ball from rolling down my pants leg. Since I couldn’t see any other way out of it, I nodded. Gritting my teeth, I started shuffling over to him. When I started lurching like Frankenstein’s monster, Zeke tilted his head curiously at me. “Are you sure you’re okay?” “Yep. Totally fine,” I muttered. Just as I reached his chair, my knee shifted because of what I imagined was panic sweat overtaking me. As the ball became dislodged, I bit down on my lip to keep from squealing again. There was no saving the ball now or my humiliation for that matter. As soon as it plopped onto my shoe, I flung my foot, sending it ricocheting into the desk. Of course, it’s size caused it to make a tremendous ching-ching noise, which in turn caused Zeke to rip his attention away from the screen. “What was that?” “What was what?” I questioned innocently. He furrowed his brows at me. “You didn’t hear that noise?” “Uh, no.” Plastering a smile on my face, I said, “I’m sorry. I was just so into what you were saying.” Ignoring my response, Zeke quickly assessed the area around us. After I’d flung the ball away, it had come to a rest to the right of his desk chair. When he bent over to examine the ball, I inwardly began screaming noooooo while at the same time cursing Estelle for even bringing the Ben Wa ball into my orbit. Since the universe hadn’t tortured me quite enough yet, Zeke picked up the ball. “Interesting,” he murmured as he twisted it between his fingers. I decided it was best to play absolutely and completely clueless in this situation. “What is it?” Silently, I prayed he wouldn’t respond with, “It looks like one of those sex balls you shove up your cooch.” “I don’t know. Maybe a part off one of the desks or chairs. I should probably give it to maintenance, so they can check all the furniture in here.” Oh hell no. Without a second thought, I snatched the ball out of his hands. Since I did it rather abruptly, Zeke’s surprise was apparent on his face. Waving my free hand dismissively, I said, “Don’t bother yourself with that. I’ll take it to them.” “Thanks, Finley.” After wheezing out a breath, I replied, “You’re welcome.” I jerked my thumb over my shoulder. “I’ll go do that right now.” I didn’t bother waiting for Zeke to reply. Instead, I power walked right out of the history room. I’m sure if he was watching me he would have been puzzled at my miraculous recovery, considering I’d been limping earlier. At the first trash can I could find, I deposited the Ben Wa ball. It seemed abundantly clear that neither I nor my vagina were quite ready to handle the responsibility.

THIS WEEK!!!

So it is already Tuesday and let me tell you this week is flying FAST!!! This week is SUPPOSED to be REREAD week but as you know...it never turns out that way!!! So just to keep you up to date on what I am doing (I know you are dying with anticipation!)...

What I have read since last Wednesday...

1. Wait for You by Jennifer L. Armentrout writing as J. Lynn. If you have not read this book you really need to. I LOVE Cam. He isn't blond but he is blue eyed. Soccer player...YUMMY! Anyways, this is a new adult book and I can honestly say that I have NEVER read a book by Jennifer that I don't like. She is really awesome and you seriously need to look into ALL her books!  She is writing this story from Cam's POV and I CAN'T WAIT!!

2.  Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. Another author that has all GREAT books! If you
have not read anything by her go pick one. You can't go wrong. I personally like Hopeless better than Slammed but it is just barely better. I reread Hopeless in anticipation of Losing Hope coming out this week (Holder's POV!!!). It is on my to read list!!!

3.  Embody by Jamie Magee!! I know this is not a reread but I HAD TO!!! I love Landen and Willow and couldn't help myself. Look for this review to be out soon. I can't get enough of the Insight Series! Jamie has written an AWESOME world that I would love to live in. (I will tell you more soon)

4. The Party by Katie Ashley. Another new on but kinda old b/c it is a short prequel
to The Proposition. Just reminded me that I kinda love Aidan!! If you have read The Proposition and The Proposal by Katie Ashley I totally recommend The Party. It is the one where Emma shoots Aidan down...so AWESOME!! You also get to see her fight with Connor & how she is dealing with the loss of Travis (so sad but worth it).

5.  Darra and I both read a certain ZOMBIE book that will be a blog stop tomorrow. (make sure you check it out)  You can see what we thought there.

6.  I am now reading Fear of Falling by S. L. Jennings. I am REALLY REALLY LOVING IT. I will have a review up for it as soon as I finish it. If you have not read the Dark Light series GO GET IT!!! This book is different from that series but SO GOOD. Blaine is so close to perfect...southern accent, big truck, tattoos...unfortunately brown hair and brown eyes...oh well...what can you do.

Now what to do...I am pretty sure that I am going to be done with Fear of Falling tonight if not definitely tomorrow. So I am trying to figure out who I need to revisit. I am thinking Braden from On Dublin Street. I really like Joss too so that is probably a good one...I ALWAYS want to go back and revisit Phillip and Danny from That Boy and That Wedding...I am pretty sure That Baby is supposed to be coming soon...I really want to go back to Barrons and Mac in the Fever Series (that is a 5 book commitment right there...so worth it!!!) Or there is Remy from Real (Darra just finished that one), Jonah from Fighting for Flight, Woods from Twisted Perfection, Alexander from the Healers, Marcus from Cautious...

So many FREAKING good choices...I don't know what to do...hmmm....so I guess you guys can pick if you want...you have until tomorrow!!!

Don't Hate The Player...Hate The Game by Katie Ashley Blog Tour and Giveaway!

Synopsis:

For Noah Sullivan being the best friend to a douchebag and player like Jake Nelson has never been easy. It's been a rocky road since kindergarten when Jake duct taped Noah to his chair before recess. With just six weeks to high school graduation, Jake accidentally blows his drunken ass up on his grandfather's tractor, and Noah finds himself immersed not only in a whirlwind of grief, but on a quest to find a mystery girl from Jake's past.

While cleaning out Jake's room, Noah and Jake's dad make a startling discovery. Instead of the obligatory porn collection or pot stash, they find a ring, but not just any ring. Its half a carat of commitment in a platinum setting-proving even man whores have taste. After Jake's mom pleads with Noah to find the girl who meant so much to Jake, Noah begins a modern day Grail quest to track the girl down.

Since Jake was a notorious player with a legendary collection of trophy panties, Noah finds himself in over his head. There are the usual suspects like Avery, the Ice Princess Jake dated for appearances, or Presley, the school mattress Jake dated for convenience. But the trail begins to point to the most unlikely of suspects: Maddie, the Valedictorian and choir girl who was trying to help the unmotivated jock graduate--the girl who also has surprisingly caught Noah's eye and meddled with his heart.

Hanging out with Maddie shows Noah a different side of Jake--one that was deeply human and surprisingly douche-free.  And the more he tries to solve the mystery of the ring and of Jake, the more Noah starts to discover about himself and of love.

Sunny's Review:

Most of you know that I love books that are totally unrealistic and could NOT happen in real life. I hate dealing with real life which is why I read so much. Saying this...I CRIED THROUGH SO MUCH OF THIS FREAKING BOOK!!! So you know it is going to be sad b/c the book description tells you that Jake dies...but I did not expect to cry through the first several chapters while everyone is trying to deal with it. I really like Noah but I kind of hate him too.  Noah comes off as the nice guy b/c Jake was the douche but in reading Noah's thoughts...he's a douche bag too and a little spoiled. I like the fact that he really did care about Jake and through the whole book when something hard is going on he thinks about how Jake was always his rock. He ran to Jake for just about anything. It was nice to watch Noah mature and in a way you get to see how Jake was maturing too before he died. Katie Ashley did a great job with putting some twists in the book that you don't see coming.

I really did enjoy this book even though it made me emotional. I am giving it a strong 4 out of 5. It is a YA book and the characters are in high school.  GO GET THIS BOOK (and all of Katie's other ones b/c she is a GREAT writer)!!!
