Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan!!!

Synopsis:

When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.

Archer's Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.

Darra's Review:

Just letting you know this is a book I had to read alone and no one to talk to for years! I have talked to Sunny about it so many times and am pretty sure that she was annoyed beyond belief. Also, Archer was on my favorite list for a long time. I have read several of Mia's books after Archer's Voice because I enjoyed it so much. She has never let me down.I will leave this for you to read Sunny's review for more details.

Here is a little detail. Bree had a terrible tragedy in her life and ended up in the small time she fell in love with. Archer was like no other and she was enamored to know more about him despite what everyone else says in town.

This story evolves into a fantastic book about the two characters that has stuck with me for years. This book was a reread for me. Just as great as the first time.

Loved the book and will still recommend for everyone to read. Also, check out other books by Mia. Archer may be on my favorite list, but it is the stories that Mia writes that will suck you in.

My rating still remains at 4.8 out of 5.

Sunny's Review:

I am not sure why I put this book off for so long. I was told by so many people to read it and for some reason, I didn't. I am a little sad that I just now finished it but at the same time I am glad because I am pretty sure that Archer has ruined me for future book boyfriends. I have never read the synopsis for this book.  I got it because Darra told me to since it was on sale. So I did and since I have been in a reading slump I started it yesterday and finished it.

Bree is running from her old life. A horrible tragedy happened soon after she graduated from college and she can no longer deal with life. She packs her car and takes off until she ends up in a small town that she stayed at as a child. She rents a house and starts work. She meets some of the locals and is intrigued by the guy who stopped to help her but wouldn't speak to her. I really like Bree. She could be a person that just shuts down and complains about everything after what happened to her. Instead she deals with what life has thrown at her and has a really open view of people.

Archer has a craptastic life in that a major, horrific event shaped his life early on. He is either seen as a freak in town or is not seen at all. He is content with everyone ignoring him but when he stops to help Bree she sees him. Once he starts to get to know Bree he realizes that he does not want to be invisible and does not want to go back to his lonely life. Archer is such an amazing character. There is so much hurt in him that you just want to hold onto him and make him feel loved forever. He is also super smart and has taught himself everything that he knows, including sign language. Archer makes some choices that you want to be mad at him for but you really can't. They range from his being so socially clueless to him doing the tough things because he knows his shortcomings.

This book has sent me into a major book hangover. I read it in a night and I am pretty sure that this book will be a repeat read for me. I loved it and I think you will too. I am giving this book 4.8 stars out of 5.

Am I a book Snob? Our Breakdown of 2014

When someone that does not read on a daily basis will come to ask you, “What kind of books do you read?”
What do you say? I read romance novels? Or a little of everything? Personally I think those people pigeonhole all books that are not Non Fiction, as romance fluff.
I cannot disagree more. A book always must have a solid story. Yes, it may have a little bit of love. However I think that many nonreaders miss that point. If you are a person that can only read Biographies and John Grisham, you are missing some of the top Best Selling Books of the year.
