Addicted to You by Colina Brennan Blog Tour!!

When twenty-one-year-old Leah Carter's latest one night stand burglarizes her apartment, her roommate forces her to attend therapy for sex addicts. Leah insists she isn't a sex addict; she just doesn't do relationships. After all, sooner or later, everyone lets you down.

At first, the group sessions are little more than an education on how to be promiscuous. Until she meets the newest addict—blue eyes, killer body, and a smile that tempts relapse.

Psychology student Will McLean is posing as a fellow addict while researching a case study on unusual addictions. But the more he learns about Leah, the more certain he is that his desire to break through her walls and unearth her secrets has nothing to do with his assignment.

As the uncertainties spike alongside the sexual tension, the only thing Leah knows for sure is that falling in love would be disastrous. Too bad love might be one addiction she can't kick.

Sunny's Review:

So this book is really funny. I mean you are forced to go to Sex Addiction classes just so your roommate won't kick you out. I mean it is really bad that the guy you slept with stole everything from you but its really not your fault...I laughed A LOT in this book. I like Leah. She was not afraid to be who she was. She did not bend to others will and just do what they wanted (except her roommates so she had somewhere to live).  Will was pretty awesome too. The first time he goes to the class and stands up to give his speech I think tears rolled down my face from laughter. SO FUNNY.
I would recommend this book if you are wanting a funny light read. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Beside Your Heart Blog Tour and Giveaways!!!

Late one night Nicki Johnson plays with emotional fire and Googles her high school love, only to find his name splashed across the British gossip columns. Back in his native England, Adam Kincaid is successful and dating a woman from an aristocratic family like his own. With a career in politics, Nicki’s no slouch, but she knows Adam is living a world away from her life. Yet there was a time he was no farther than the next locker. Nicki will never forget their year together in high school—the year of her sister’s death, the year her mother checked out. Adam helped Nicki through suffocating grief, and she led him through a coming of age. Was it just high school, or was it something more?

Title: Beside Your Heart
Author:  Mary Whitney
Genre: New Adult Romance
Publish Date: June 17, 2013
Event organized by: Literati Literature Lovers

Darra's Review:

Hhmm. First off, I felt for Nicki. She truly had a terrible thing that happened to her. Adam is the typical guy with raging hormones at first. I have to say, I love a guy with a English accent. Adam turns around and you get to see a side of him that is so sweet. And it all because of Nicki. They really were meant to be together and it was awful having to see all of what happens at the end of their Junior year. I was surprised at the ending. Surely there has to be another book. It leaves you hanging and it leaves so many unanswered questions. I heart Adam. I give this book a 4.1. Worth the read.

Sunny's Review:

When I read the description of this book I was a little nervous about it. I feel like you should never really go back and try to renew the first love. I mean we all think about it and wonder what could have been but at the end of the day...probably not a good idea.  I really did like this book. It was not what I had expected. You get to see what the relationship was like when they were in high school.  Adam is really great but at the same time a typical high school DB. Nicki had to go through some of the worst situations in her life that year and the fact that she was as normal as she was. I am not sure about the ending. I am hoping that there is another book but I have not had time to look into it. I would give this book a strong 4. I recommend it and think that most people will enjoy it.

Sunny's Review:

This book is really funny! There were so many parts that my jaw just dropped b/c it was really good. This starts out with Julie getting dumped by her fiance and forced to go get a story about a guy that listed a want ad on a utility pole. Of course Andy is super HOT and speaks French (not for me but hey...to each his own). He wants to have a business based marriage as opposed to one built on passion. He decides that Julie is the one for him and offers her a proposal.
I like Julie. She is not really annoying and you have to give it to her...she goes after what she wants. She also puts her best efforts into life with Andy. She does not complain about anything.
Andy is AWESOME. He is hot and a FARMER! (yes there is a hick inside of me) At first he seems a little jerkish (I do make up words...) but after awhile he seems to try and give Julie everything that she could want.
I would reread this book b/c it is sweet and funny. I really like both characters.  I would give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

The Forever of Ella & Micha by Jessica Sorensen

Synopsis:

Ella is back at school, trying to focus on her future and forget the darkness of her past. Still, her ongoing family drama is making it harder and harder to get through the days. All she really wants is Micha, but no way will she let her problems get in the way of his dreams.
Micha is busy touring the country with his band, seemingly getting everything he's ever wanted. But deep down he knows something is missing. Being away from Ella is harder than he expected. And while he longs to have her with him, he won't ask her to leave college just to be at his side.
When Ella and Micha are together, anything seems possible . . . but lately those shared moments aren't so easy to find. When a new tragedy shakes their already fragile world, one of them will make a dramatic choice that could break them apart forever . . .

Sunny's Review:

This is the next part of The Secret of Ella and Micha. I really like Micha. He is the a good guy and his whole life is focused on Ella. He is a little clingy but I like that he does go off to do his band thing. I like that he does not go out and do the whole slutty musician thing while he is dating Ella. Keep in mind that Ella has a lot of issues and you have to give her credit for trying to work through them. She may not go about it the right way but she also really wants Micha to have a great life. I also like that in the end Jessica Sorensen does not just say ok happily ever after. You can still see that Ella is not perfect and is still working through a lot of her issues.

I really recommend this series. I am not sure if I am going to read the 3rd book which is about Ethan and Lila. First, I don't really know if I like Lila enough to read anything from her POV. I am afraid she will just annoy me. I do want to know what the deal is with her family life...it seems very jacked up. I do like Ethan but I don't know if I want to go into their lives. I guess I will have to see.

I would give The Forever of Ella and Micha 4 out of 5 stars. Now I am anxiously awaiting the release of The Redemption of Callie and Kayden in August.

About the Author:

I’m the author of the Fallen Star Series, the Darkness Falls Series, the Death Collectors Series, and the New York Times and USA Today Best Seller, The Secret of Ella and Micha, a New Adult Contemporary novel.
I love writing and reading almost anything that is YA. Some of my favorite authors are Cassandra Clare, Sarah Dessen, Becca Fitzpatrick, Abbi Glines, Tammara Webber, Jamie McGuire and Jennifer L. Armentrout. I’m also an avid watcher of TV series The Vampire Diaries and of Modern Family.
I absolutely love music. When I’m writing, 9 out of 10 times I have music blaring in the background. My list of favorite songs could go on and on, since I have a very broad taste in music. But a few of my favorite bands are Chevelle, Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, Brand New, Death Cab for Cutie, Flight 409, Nirvana, and I’m going to stop there or else I’ll keep going on forever.
I don’t really have any favorite movies, but a few that I could watch over and over again are Anywhere but Here, Juno, Pride and Prejudice, The Hangover, and Bad Teacher.

See by Jamie Magee Blog Tour & Giveaways!!

Forgetting who you are, your ambitions, your passions is crippling….but remembering – embracing your purpose with a new sense of determination is more than empowering….it's life altering. Charlie Myers is on a life altering path that will cause the dammed to humble in silence.

One night…just a few friends, how could it go so wrong? That was the question seventeen year old Charlie Myers was asking when she found herself in the ER. Outwardly nothing was wrong with Charlie, she was a vision of perfect heath, internally she was battling a raging headache…one the doctor told her she would overcome shortly, but Charlie knew something else was wrong …very wrong.

Part of her had been stolen…she was missing memories. Those memories were sacred. They held the key to her sanity. They told her that the sinister whispers, the shadows that came to life before her were not as ominous as she felt they were. They held the bond with her late father, a famed musician. They caused her to forget the one talent that allowed her to face the darkness that haunted her every waking hour. They also masked a much deeper bond, the face of the one that had stolen her heart, long before the age of seventeen.

Sitting in the ER with her angry mother she couldn’t figure out what she was missing, or even how. Her thoughts told her that she needed to protect Britain, a friend of hers, but that didn’t make any sense – Britain didn’t need to be protected from anyone, he was strong, young, and absurdly wealthy. Charlie also knew that even though her friend Bianca called Charlie her best friend, she didn’t trust her …she was almost sure she despised her, but she couldn’t figure out why, or understand how random thoughts were telling her that she adored both Britain and Bianca – that they were her saviors – that they brought silence to the unstoppable whispers, but the silence scared Charlie. In her mind anyone or anything that could bring silence to something that dark could not be good.

Charlie wanted to stay in NY, figure out what she was missing, why, and who was behind it all, but her mother had other plans. Against her will, Charlie was sent to Salem to live with her sister, within that small town Charlie found her memories and so much more.

Her story begins now.

Darra's Review:

You will like this book. Charlie is one of a kind. She is different than most main characters I read. I had such conflicting feelings for Britain. I really want to like him but you know there is something wrong. Charlie should punch Bianca in the face. Talking about a bad BFF. The main thing that Charlie her sane is music. That is where Draven comes in. He was her past and he sings. Mmmm. More musicians. Everyone will love Draven. He is the perfect boyfriend. In fact you will love all her previous friends. They were always there for her before her brain wash. Read the book. It is unique and I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

I will give it a 4.3.

Sunny's Review:
I really like this book! It was different and for some reason I love memory loss books. Charlie is a pretty good lead character. She basically knows that something is wrong and can't figure out what. I like that while she feels like she should be trying to help Britain she pays attention to her instincts and tries to stay away from Bianca. I love Draven too. He is awesome and surprisingly patient. I don't think that I would be able to be as calm if I were him. I was a little nervous when the book kept centering around music but it ended up being different and not a band book. I was literally yelling at Charlie towards the end of the book--it was like when you are watching the movie and you know something is about to happen and you yell "Don't go OUTSIDE!!!!" but they do...yep I was yelling at her. It was a really good book and I am going to be reading the rest of the series. The next 2 are out so you won't have to wait FOREVER!!! (You know my feelings on waiting on books...drives me CRAZY!)

I would give this book 4.5 stars out of 5...so go get it (or enter to WIN it)!!!!

About Jamie Magee:

Jamie Magee has always believed that each of us have a defining gift that sets us apart from the rest of the world, she has always envied those who have known from their first breath what their gift was. Not knowing hers, she began a career in the fast paced world of business. Raising a young family, and competing to rise higher in that field would drive some to the point of insanity, but she always found a moment of escape in a passing daydream. Her imagination would take her to places she’d never been, introduce her to people she’s never known. Insight, her debuting novel, is a result of that powerful imagination. Today, she is grateful that not knowing what defined her, led her on a path of discovery that would always be a part of her.

Forgiven Blog Tour

Synopsis

Everyone has a past…good or bad, they are always there. They lurk and linger in the shadows, sometimes reappearing at the most inconvenient times.

Gabby and Bradley thought that their pasts would remain dormant, that happiness was theirs for the taking. Still the strongest of relationships can be rocked by the ugliness from a previous life, even if it seems to be a world away. The fact remains an ugly past is never distant. It taints everything it touches, drives permanent rifts between loved ones, and sometimes can ruin everything. Gabby and Bradley must find the only way to battle the past. Forgiveness becomes a light through the darkness, a guide for the lost, and hope for the hopeless. With forgiveness comes bright, new beginnings

Title: Forgiven (This #3)
Author:  J.B. McGee
Genre: New Adult

Publication Date:  May 16, 2013

Sunny's Review:

I LOVE BRADLEY!!!  He is freaking AWESOME.  He goes from being total rich playboy to a devoted fiance.  If you have not read the first 3 books (one being a novella) you should before you go any further. I would recommend this book. So Bradley basically does whatever Gabby wants him to do so that he can prove to her that he is really committed. He does kinda screw up once but at the same time I understand why he did what he did. I would have been PISSED if I were her.
SPOILER ALERT!!! (if you have not read any part of the series)
Gabby is really kind of at the top of the cry baby list. I realize that she had a tough life in that her mother died and that is awful. At the same time she really didn't close herself off that much after that. She closed herself off when her boyfriend cheated on her...soooooooo I mean really its happened to everyone (if not the cheating then your first love breaking your heart)...I did not like Gabby at all. I think that she should have been a stronger person and honestly Bradley deserved better. There are some things that yes she should have been upset about...Veronica-yes be upset but seriously she went overboard...Timing-yes she should have questioned the timing with the Veronica problem ABSOLUTELY! My question to her: you were so distraught for 2 years over Ian but when he shows up you just let him in? You don't get mad that he was purposely manipulating you?

At the end of the day...I really did like the story. I would give this book 3.9 stars out of 5. I will probably reread this series and I do recommend it. I love Bradley and at the end of the day Gabby grows up some in Forgiven.

Blessed Tragedy Tour Stop

Maddie Neumann died the day she pulled away from her parents' house determined to make her dreams come true. She wasn't the perfect little princess she'd been raised to be, all she wanted to do was rock. Everything Maddie was tucked away in a box to allow for her re-birth as Rain Maxwell; a badass rocker who answered to no one and lived by her own set of rules.

Rain's world is shattered with one phone call from her estranged family. No sooner does she get home than everything she thought she knew about her life starts changing.

Colton Bradford knew there was something special about Rain the moment they first met. Unfortunately, she had a hard and fast rule about dating a bandmate so he was stuck in the friends zone. When Rain is going through her own personal hell, will Colton finally be able to make her see how he feels and convince her to take a chance on love?

Available on Amazon

Darra's Review:

I did like this book. You know this book is good since Sunny liked it too. I am a total music fan and so I did do a happy dance(not physically, just mental) when I got to read about music I like. Rain was kick ass and did not take any of the guys crap. How can you not love Colton?! I am not usually a real fan of the rocker guys, but this may have turned me around.
The reason chicks dig rocker guys? It is because they usually have a awesome voice and/or play the drums/guitar/bass and the lyrics to a song can make you swoon. All the things that can be said in lyrics of a song can't always be expressed in conversations. I think that is what the relationship with Colton and Rain is like. Love is all within the music. And in the tour bus. :-)

I give the book a 4.3. I would read it again.

Sunny's Review:

Ok...so you know my views on band books...UGH HATE THEM! So I was not looking forward to this book at all. Darra told me about it and I was just like seriously can you do it and I'll just ignore it???? (all of this is written in my whiniest voice by the way) Then she tells me No you will like it...the guy has blond hair!!! (and then she kinda mumbles but its long) so then I decided no not doing it...absolutely not!!!

I read it and I actually REALLY LIKED IT!! Look at me branching out!!! So mostly I had to just try not read anything that had to do with Colton's hair...I know I have issues )I am taking shrink donations for my many issues)  Maddie/Rain is actually a pretty good character. She has had a rough life in the sense of not feeling like she can fit in with any of her family and feels very alone.  Colton is a guy in the band and her best friend. He takes care of her and has been in love with her from the beginning. I like him b/c he really does care and wants the best for her. He is there for at ALMOST every turn...yes I said almost (you have to read the book to find out where/when/how he lets her down!). It was actually a little heart breaking to see what he does. I wanted to punch him in the face.

I think I am going to give this book a 4.3. When you think about how I dragged my feet to get started on it and then I ended up reading it in a day it must be pretty good. The next book is called Blessed Fate and it is from Colton's POV. I love when authors do this!!! Looking forward to it!

Some writers can tell you what book piqued their interest in writing a book of their own. I can’t. Other authors tell you the name of a teacher who influenced and encouraged them to write. The only English teacher I can remember probably does deserve some of the credit for my success because she was one of the hardest teachers I ever had. Honestly, I don’t know why I write; all I know is it’s one of two things I can do that makes me feel completely free.

The first “official” writing I did was as a fifteen year old high school sophomore. My dad was part of an APAzine and, for whatever reason, I started guest writing on his zine. That led to me getting a zine of my own in the Turbo Charged Party Animal APA. Rope the Moon (named after the John Michael Montgomery song and a nod to my dad’s influence on me) was the ramblings of a child in a world of adults.

I was held to a high standard because most of the contributors were my dad’s age. They were somewhat hesitant to allow a kid in, but they voted me in after those guest contributions. To this day, I feel blessed to consider some of those members friends.

Sometime after high school, life got in the way of my dreams. They keyboard was dusty. Looking back, that’s also when I felt my most restless. After my daughter was born, I started my first blog, More Than Mom, as a way to vent about my struggle to hold onto the identity I’d owned for 27 years.

In 2006, I heard about NaNoWriMo for the first time. I jumped in with the enthusiasm of anyone who’s never tried to write a 50,000 word novel in a month. It was a damn good story. Did I mention I’d never written anything of that length before? Yeah, that’s important because it means I never lost a work in progress of that length before. It was November 14th and I was over 24,000 words when my hard drive failed. And with the loss of my manuscript, I lost the drive to write for a while.

In 2012, I attempted NaNoWriMo again, this time saving in so many places I’m sure I’ll be finding partial copies of Bent everywhere until the day I die. The thing they don’t tell you with NaNo? When you hit 50,000 words, that doesn’t mean you’re done writing! So, I kept writing until I was done. And then I edited. And edited some more. Deleted a bunch of scenes, added others in. Had some trusted friends and mentors read it and then tweaked it some more.

In January 2013, I made the single scariest click of my mouse that I will ever make. I published Bent. It’s been a whirlwind year and it keeps picking up pace but I’ve never before felt so blessed to be where I am!

I’d love to hear from you! Feel free to email me at hbheinzer@gmail.com with questions, comments or even a good joke!

A SALE!!!! LOVE IT!!!

I have not read this book but I am pretty sure I will be buying it now that it is on SALE!!!  Go to Amazon and get this book today or tomorrow so that you can get in on this deal.

Synopsis of Emancipating Andie

Ever since the one time Andie Weber threw caution to the wind - and paid the price for it - she’s learned that it’s safer and smarter to live life playing by the rules. Now she’s got a great apartment, a steady job, and a wonderful boyfriend in Colin; he’s sweet, stable, and essentially perfect – except maybe for the fact that his best friend is Chase.

Chase McGuire lives his carefree, unstructured life strictly for himself. Dripping sarcasm and oozing wit, he refuses to censor his feelings or opinions for anyone, making no apologies for either and wearing his abrasiveness like a badge of honor. No one has ever gotten under Andie’s skin the way Chase does – and vice versa.

So when Andie and Chase find themselves forced to take a two-day road trip together, they are already dreading an inevitable all-out war. But as the trip progresses, and the undeniable friction that has always defined their relationship slowly begins to wear away their preconceived notions of each other, Andie and Chase discover they both have a lot to learn about life, courage, happiness, and the age-old battle between logic and love.

Sounds good right??? You can also go check out Back To You which is Priscilla Glenn's debut novel.

Synopsis Back To You

When Lauren Monroe first laid eyes on Michael Delaney back in high school, she had every reason to stay away from him; within minutes of their first encounter, his volatile actions confirmed his notorious reputation. But Lauren saw something in him that caused her to question his bad-boy persona, and against her better judgment, she took a chance. She had no way of knowing that the unlikely friendship they formed would become so important to her.

Or that it would end so painfully.

Eight years later, when Lauren begins her new job at Learn and Grow Day Care, Michael is the last person she expects to see. Refusing to revisit the hurt and confusion of their past, Lauren vows to keep her distance from him. But staying away from Michael proves to be more difficult than she thought, despite her lingering grief and her instincts for self-preservation.

As Lauren and Michael recall the friendship that changed them forever and the events that tore them apart, will they finally be able to heal? Or will the ghosts of Michael’s past prove to be too much to overcome?

What's Going On For The Rest Of MAY!!!

Ok...so a lot is going on for the end of May!!! I am very excited and nervous...

Nervous...

Stealing Harper by Molly McAdams is out tomorrow...Thank you to eveyone that pre-ordered (I was one of them too!) so it is coming out 2 weeks early!!! So here is my problem with this release...you may or may not remember awhile back when I could NOT get Chase Grayson out of my head. I fell head over heels for him and seriously if you read Taking Chances (like I told you to) then you know why I am FREAKING OUT over Stealing Harper. It is Chase's POV!!! OMG I can't even imagine how much more I am going love him!!!! I can also only imagine how upset I am going to be at the same time!!!!  Now my question is...do I wait until this weekend to read and have my emotional breakdown then or do I just forget the work week and read it ASAP and be an emotional, worthless wreck??? What do you think??? Can I make it until this weekend???  P.S. If you did not see this song from an earlier post...Molly McAdams thinks this would be a song from Chase to Harper...

Excited!!!

The Blessed Tragedy blog tour kicks off this week. Darra and I read this book so keep an eye out for our review later this week..did we both like it or did one of us hate it...hmmmm I don't know...maybe we both hated it...you have to tune in to see!!!

Trophy Husband is being released this week so you need to go and get that!

Next week we have 2 tour stops...Forgiven and then See. Again, who knows what we thought!!! Do you think Darra and I finally 100% disagree on a book??? Maybe...maybe not.

The Forever of Ella and Micha by Jessica Sorensen is being released next week!!! I have been waiting on this book for A LONG TIME!!! I love Jessica's books but I definitely hate the wait.  If you have not read The Secret of Ella and Micha then you need to do it. This story is about best friends that grew up next door to each other and something happens (you have to read it to know what!) so Ella takes off...the book is set 8 months later when Ella comes back to town for the summer. You have to love Micha...he is sweet and awesome...go get these books!!

Obsession by Jennifer L. Armentrout is also coming out next week!!! This book takes place in the Lux world but is a stand alone book. You don't have to read the Lux series to know what is going on and you don't have to read Obsession if you read the Lux books. Darra is the one that got me started on this author and she is AWESOME!!! I have not read a book yet by her that I do not like. I totally recommend you reading these books. My sister text me this weekend and was like "I can't believe I have to wait for the NEXT BOOK!!! How could she end it that way???" So if you have read the Lux series, Obsession is from the Arum POV. I am interested to see if it is going to make me like them or if I am going to continue to hate them b/c I love Daemon so much.

I think that is all that is going on...next month looks to be another good one...just saying...be prepared!!!!
