Darra's Review:

Where Red left off made me want more of Jake. T.L Smith left us hanging! I loved Jake in the books, Black and Red. Even though those books were not focused on him. He is ridiculous, charismatic and funny. Great combination!
However the things he has went through are horrid. Torture and betray best sum it up. When does Jake break down? Well, it happens in this book. At the beginning you are thrown into a awful torture scene. Cringing the entire time.
He has been drinking away his sorrows when he meets Addy. She has had it rough as well. Living a life that she was forced into and with the worse people. Somehow Jake is trying to help her out. Don't forget Jake is the president of his MC club. So these characters pop up as well.
Black has moved on with his life with Rose. Jake has decided to leave them alone. Most likely because of unresolved feelings. Even though this book is about Jake, I think I like Black even more in this book than Red! Such a dry sense of humor and shows he cares for Jake. Their relationship gets back to how it was before.
Jake and Addy have a great story together. Two people living with a despairing past and a questionable future. Seeing two people that are broken and mend each other, makes your heart melt.

I am satisfied with the ending to the series. Reading Jake's life  moving forward gave me finality to that family. Happy and content despite the dreadful past. Two people that are made for each other.

My rating for the book is a 4.2 out of 5.

Sunny's Review:

I was really looking forward to this book. I wanted more of Jake after Red. This was a fast read for me. I finished the book in less than a day. I liked getting a little bit of his background and seeing what happened to him but at the same time, I was a little disappointed. It might be my fault for building up Jake.

Addy was interesting and I wish I had a little bit more of her back story. She was strong in that she didn't put up with a lot of Jake's issues but she never pushed him away because of them. I know that sounds weird but there were some things that she just put Jake in his place but she never held his past against him.

Jake was Jake. If you read Black and Red then you know that Jake is pretty funny. He does have some of his comic relief in this book but honestly Black had more than Jake in this one. He was straight forward with Addy and I did like him for it.

I liked the book but I felt like it was a little rushed. I definitely enjoy Black and Red more but this book is a solid 4 stars out of 5. I think it was a good end to the series and wraps up nicely. You do need to read Black and Red before White.

I want to first point out how much I was looking forward to Red. With the ending of Black, I needed more. Was not sure if that was the end of Black and Red would be the life after with Rose. Red satisfied my need. Every time T.L. Smith comes out with a new book, I can't help but get giddy thinking what type of book she will write.

 

Red just throws you into the story immediately. A bit shocking, but what do you expect from TL Smith? People changed from the beginning of Black. Which I liked that the characters evolving over time. I enjoyed them even more. It is hard to explain the book without going into specific details. There are twists and turns. Love and Hate. Disturbing and innocence. Deception and devotion. It was a roller coaster till the end. Jaw dropping on the last pages. Seriously, I can't believe how it ended!

 

I was surprised with how the plot started. A little bit of WTF? Again the further I read, the more attached you get to the characters. And about Jake. I am soooo extremely excited he will have his own book. A character you truly love, despite all the ugliness around him. Giddy again!

 

My rating for Red is 4.8. I love both books and will continue to read all of T.L. Smith's upcoming books as well. Bravo!

This review is going to be hard. I don't want to give you any spoilers. I will say that I was looking forward to this book! At the end of Black, I was like wait what just happened??!!?? I needed to find out more and I have been looking forward to this book. I am not going to lie, I had a lot of anxiety about it.

 

I did not like the characters at the beginning of this series. Black was not my type in any way, Rose was not a person I could identify with in any way. I was so glad that I finished Black and I am even more happy now that I gave this series a chance after reading Red. I enjoyed the characters so much more in this book. Black is just as intense as he was in the first book but there is a situation he has to work through. You can tell that he really grew and learned some life lessons that help him in this story. Granted he is still Black but you get to see some evolution in his character. I really had a hard time with Rose in the previous book. I sympathized for her but I also judged her. I know it is wrong but I did. I really liked her in this book. She is a lot stronger and I love that she actually stands up for herself and her family. She was so wrapped up in Black in the first book and it was all about him. I loved that she was honest with him and told him that her life is different now. Jake...oh my gosh Jake! He is awesome. I love him so much in this book. He does some truly horrific things but he is so freaking amazing too. I mean he is there for Rose. He is her best friend and totally devoted to her. I really liked Sax too. He does not have a huge role but there is just something about him that makes me want to know more about him but I am also okay with leaving him as a mystery. Maybe it is because he is trustworthy and really the voice of reason in the crazy of this story.

 

I can't wait to see what comes next. Again with the cliffhanger and sitting there last night going OMG! WTF?!? How long do I have to wait for more??!!?? I am giving this book a 4.8 and seriously I need more!

I am lucky enough to be a blogger who gets to review books. And there are some books who can't help to be extremely excited to read. This happens every time TL Smith writes a book. I have loved all her books. Without a doubt, now one of my favorites. Raw and in your face is the best way to explain the plot. Black is all but perfect. But who really wants to read a book with perfect people that don't exist in real life? Rose was in a world of hurt and deception right in the beginning of the book. I I am lucky enough to be a blogger who gets to review books. And there are some books who can't help to be extremely excited to read. This happens every time TL Smith writes a book. I have loved all her books. Without a doubt, now one of my favorites. Raw and in your face is the best way to explain the plot. Black is all but perfect. My rating is a 4.8. So glad I got to read it. But I can't wait to read Smith's next book.

This is the first T.L. Smith I have read. Darra has read her books and told me I should start and I finally did. I can honestly say at first I was like "Really? This is not my type of book." I kept going and I am so glad that I did.

I liked both characters. Black seems like a psychopath at first and I was thinking there is no way I can like him. After you keep going through the book you see a different side of him and you have to end up loving him. I wonder about myself a little bit for sympathizing with him and forgiving him for his job. When Rose came in the picture I was thinking there is no way I am going to ever like her. Again, I was wrong. She isn't exactly what she seems in the beginning and really I have to say I admire her tenacity. I really have so many more things that I want to say about this book but I am afraid of spoiling anything for you. I will say that I want more and I want to know more about Jake! This book has a very memorable ending. As in as soon as I was finished after 10PM, Darra got a text about it! There are only a handful of books that have us texting about it before we see each other the next day at work. It was that good, I couldn't wait to talk about it.

I am giving this book 4.7 stars out of 5. The beginning is a little slow but it is so worth it to keep reading. Go get this book!!!
