I do like box sets because sometimes I get confused. "Wait, is that the end of that book?" However I am glad there are short synopsis before so I am in the right set of mine. I don't necessarily have a huge interest in police/ FBI/ military guys. But some of these characters did not even need to be enforcement to like them.
Each story have totally different characters that I cannot compare to all the books. Some I did favor more than others. A few had a caveman mentality. Some were very smart and had a plan right from the beginning. Liked many of the women characters but there were a few damsel in distress. Grow a backbone, but at the end they did.
There are ups and downs to all stories but overall I liked the box set. You don't even need to love Law Enforcement to read this book. Check it out!

I am not a big fan of box sets but I wanted to read this one since it is for a wonderful cause and I totally have a thing for cops. I was not disappointed with this set. The books were quick reads and I am definitely going to be looking into more books from these authors. There is definitely a little bit of something for everyone in these books. You have the military guy, the shifter, the undercover guy, the alpha guy, the cocky guy. I loved most of them but I will say that Street Justice might be my personal favorite of this set. Linc is pretty hot and aggressive plus the story was told from his POV which I loved. I also loved Daisy. He is the shepherdoodle (no idea if I spelled that correctly or am using the correct word) that has amorous feelings for Linc. Shelby is pretty great too. She is a do gooder that is neighbors with Linc. The book is fun and funny at times plus there is a serious side while dealing with the case. All of these books have some HOT scenes in them.  I don't want to go into all of the stories and give too much away. 

I am a huge supported of LEOs and their families. I liked this box set and am giving it  4.7 stars out of 5. Even if you are not sure if you want to read all the stories, go buy this. If you end up hating it (I doubt you will) you have at least contributed to a great cause.

There are two community holding cells—one is the drunk tank, the other is the tail talk. I hear the soft crying before I turn the corner. There are two types of tail—the criers and the crabs. I have no idea what mine will be, but I expect crying. I don’t expect the bold brown eyes of the woman standing in the cage holding the bars. She’s my sexy as sin, nutcase next door neighbor.

Her glare is one hundred megawatts of anger. I know the feeling. “What the hell?” slips from my lips before I stop myself. Fuck, I’ve been having sexual fantasies about a prostitute.

“It took you long enough to poopadoodle over here,” she responds snidely. No embarrassment or remorse anywhere in the statement and her imaginative words drive me crazy.

I think about turning around and walking away. She’s the last woman I’d peg as a hooker. She has the goods to be a high-class escort but walking the streets for money stumps me.

“Come to momma,” says an older prostitute standing behind Shelby.

I ignore the older woman, back away, and hold up my hands in classic I give up style. “Nothing I can do about this. You’ll see the judge in the morning for your arraignment.”

Her eyes roll. “You think I asked you here to get me out Marshal Puckerbutt?” she bitches in the voice I remember from our prior run-ins. Each and every interaction with her has been a disaster, so why is she at the top of my fantasy list? She crosses her arms and taps her dainty little foot. “I’m not going anywhere. I’m asking you to let Daisy outside when you get home.”

My legs freeze. I hate that damn dog and she knows it. Who in their right mind names a male dog Daisy? I lower my hands. “You’re on your own, honey,” I say unsympathetically and turn to leave. The long, loud sigh behind me makes me grit my teeth.

“Fine, if you want me to beg, Lincoln, I’ll beg.” Her voice hasn’t softened in the slightest, and wow, a prostitute begging, what a concept.

I pivot and give her the famous Street stare down. It’s a family trait and usually leaves men shaking in their boots. Of course it could be more than the stare. I’m six foot four with plenty of muscle to back it up. I’m one of five strapping boys, as my mother likes to say, and all of us gifted with great genes. “I want nothing to do with that beast from hell you call a dog.” Shivers run down my spine remembering every contact I’ve had with the mutt. Daisy on his hind legs can rest his front paws on my shoulders. He has no training to speak of and enjoys jumping. I could handle the jumping if the dog didn’t latch onto me and hump my fucking body every time. Not a gentle humping. We’re talking grab hold of my upper body with his front paws, put his entire pelvis into it, and try his damnedest to create puppies.

My stare down appears to have no effect on Shelby. However, her brown eyes have turned pathetically pleading and she bats her lashes for good measure. She’s the queen of manipulation. It irks me that the look affects my dick and it swells slightly beneath my pants. Buck up, Street, she’s a fucking prostitute, a professional. She probably uses those eyes to squeeze extra money from her johns. No way am I helping her with that damn dog.

She bats her lashes again. “Look,” I run my hand over my face. I’m so fucking tired and can barely keep my eyes open. I can’t believe I’m doing this. “I’ll call the judge and see if he’ll come in tonight. Can you post bail?”

Her sigh is half strangled cat. “I don’t want bail,” she grinds out with the stubborn set to her jaw returning. “I’m not leaving this delightful Disneyesque establishment.” She gestures around with a sweep of her arms. “I just need you to let Daisy out and feed him. If you do, I’ll owe you a favor.”

A favor. That’s priceless. I look at her. She’s dressed in jean shorts more conservative than any prostitute wears and a rainbow tank top that shows off her well-endowed breasts. White deck shoes do nothing to detract from her long legs. This outfit does not scream sex for hire but maybe some men have a thing for the yuppie look. Hell, I’m aging myself. She’s one of the gen Ys and thinks a quick smile and large eye blinks will make me fall in line. I disregard how strange it is to see her without crazy scarves and crazier hats. Booking removes those items during processing. Right now she looks almost normal instead of a hippy reject. “Sorry, honey, I don’t need one of your favors.”

I really enjoyed Sherri's writing. Not overfluffed. Not over the top. Real conversations. Which in some books it is a little much and I do not know anyone that would speak like that.
Anyways, the book is the full package. Great characters, a little mystery and of course a some love.
I liked Trent from beginning. Charismatic, light hearted and yes, sexy. I think that is partly because he is set that he wants Abby no matter what she says. She will be his. You will root for him throughout the book.
Abigail has a past with one other member of the family that is a huge secret that will break their heart. This was the part that you were afraid for her. Such a tragedy and only had her best friend to help her. You can't help for having sympathy for Abby being so young at the time and having major decisions to make.
I cannot say anything further without spoiling the story. This book is worth your reading time. It is what you are looking for in a Adult Contemp Romance.

I rate the book a 4.4 out of 5.

I liked this book. It was a fast read and I actually really liked the characters. Sometimes (especially with female characters) you get very whiny or wishy washy characters that I just want to punch. You didn't have this here. You have Abigail who comes back to her home town to help her best friend from college out. They have a great relationship and you have to love that she was willing to come with him even though there were some bad memories there. She grew up with Trent's family and had not seen them in ten plus years. Abigail is loyal and really pretty strong. Trent runs into her and realizes that the crush he had on her growing up is still there. He has his own company and is still very close to his family. Trent is not an over bearing alpha but he does let Abigail know that he wants to be friends again and then quickly lets her know he has more feelings than just friends. 

There is a lot of back and forth between them and once they get all of their secrets out, I like them together. I loved getting to see the rest of Trent's family. They are close knit and let Abigail back in very quickly. There is some drama and a little bit of mystery. 

I am giving this book 4.3 stars out of 5. I liked the writing and the story was good. I recommend you reading it.

“Thank you for coming with me. I don’t know if I would have been able to do what you did.” Matthew smirked, trying to lighten the mood. “At least, not with the same results.”

Cali blushed and Matthew almost lost it. He wanted to touch her, to crush her body against his and kiss her within an inch of her life.

Instead, he backed toward the elevators. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

She grinned and began walking to her car.

He hesitated, then shook his head and continued toward the elevator.

As he waited for the elevator to reach him, he heard an engine rev. A small smile pulled at his lips as he thought of Cali heading home.

The elevator dinged right as a squeal of tires caught his attention. He whirled around in time to see a dark blue sedan he didn’t recognize speed up the exit ramp.

His heart pounded in his chest as he took off at a full-out run.

 Darra's Review:

This was the first time reading a book from Sherri Hayes. Not disappointed in the least. I have read books about murders and stalking. Their maybe issues like this in the book, however it was not gritty. Which sometimes you need. Not over the top. More believable.

I liked both Cali and Matthew along with his brother and other characters. Despite Matthews tough façade, he is captured by Cali, both physically and mentally. The feelings are mutual for Cali. Even though there "relationship" is a large part of the story, what the main portion of the book is about who is trying to take down Cali and the business.

The ending of the book was interesting. I was thinking those characters had a part in why Cali was being targeted. But you don't know for sure until it was rolled out why they wanted her gone.

Happy ending for me. So it was a light read for me and enjoyed having a book that is not all in your face, unnecessary rough sex scenes.

My rating for the book would be a 4.4.

Sherri spent most of her childhood detesting English class. It was one of her least favorite subjects because she never seemed to fit into the standard mold. She wasn't good at spelling, or following grammar rules, and outlines made her head spin. For that reason, Sherri never imagined becoming an author.

At the age of thirty, all of that changed. After getting frustrated with the direction a television show was taking two of its characters, Sherri decided to try her hand at writing an alternate ending, and give the characters their happily ever after. By the time the story finished, it was one of the top ten read stories on the site, and her readers were encouraging her to write more.

Nearly eight years later, Sherri is the author of eight full-length novels, and two short stories. Writing has become a creative outlet that allows her to explore a wide range of emotions, while having fun taking her characters through all the twists and turns she can create.
