Synopsis:

Cora Lewis is a whole lot of fun, and she knows how to keep her tattooed bad boy friends in line. But all that flash and sass hide the fact that she’s never gotten over the way her first love broke her heart. Now she has a plan to make sure that never happens again: She’s only going to fall in love with someone perfect.
Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He’s stubborn and rigid, he’s bossy and has come back from his final tour of duty fundamentally broken. Rome’s used to filling a role: big brother, doting son, super soldier; and now none of these fit anymore. Now he’s just a man trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life while keeping the demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been glad to suffer it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life and becomes the only color on his bleak horizon.
Perfect isn’t in the cards for these two, but imperfect might just last forever . . .

About Jay Crownover:

I'm supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I'm an natural redhead even though I haven't seen my real hair color in years, I'm a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I've been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that.
I love to write, love to read and all I'm interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something.

Between Faith and Fear Blog Tour!!!

Synopsis:

Book 2 of J. A. Dennam's Captive series:

Melanie Parker's life takes a gut-wrenching turn when she wakes up in a crumbling, unfamiliar environment. Even worse, her small child is in the arms of a certifiable killer, but Rena Hellberg isn't the only immediate threat. Melanie's abductor lurks in the shadows, a quiet, hooded stranger who's calling the shots. When she refuses to play the meek hostage, he reveals his darkest secrets in order to gain her cooperation.

Though he can barely trust himself, he can't deny his feelings for a woman he should have left alone. It wasn't his intention to bring her into a world he's trying to break free of, but he refuses to let it destroy her. The formidable legion of enforcers who took him and made him one of their own won't tolerate rebellion of any kind. But they've never dealt with such a stubborn recruit...or one with so much to live for.

You really NEED to read Book 1 to understand this book!!

Sunny's Review:

Ok...so you have to read Truth and Humility before you can read Faith and Fear. It is necessary so that you are not totally lost. Plus, you fall in love with all the characters in the first book. Truth and Humility starts out explaining the family fued and is awesome. It took me less than a day on each of these books because they held my attention.  At first I was not looking forward to Melanie's book. I don't want to do a spoiler so I can't really tell you why but I was VERY happy with how the book went. I was really happy to see how she had changed from the first book. I mean being a party girl is all good and everything but I was happy to see she had grown up. The guy is FREAKING AWESOME!!!  I really liked him in the first book and I just kept on in this one.  LOVE IT.

Please do yourself a favor and go get these books. They are really good. I am giving this book 4.4 stars out of 5. I love that there was some mystery and action in it. I love a good fairytale but I also love some action.

EXCERPT (just in case you are not convinced by my review):

Melanie’s cooperation was too important. Her child presented a problem he hadn’t counted on.

Something had to change, as this was no longer a simple plan.

Sensing her eyes on him, he turned, regarded her with doubt. Should he? It was never supposed to happen. He shouldn’t put her through that kind of turmoil; it wasn’t fair to her.

But life had handed him a shit-ton of unfair.

Since he’d sent the dog downstairs to keep an eye on Rena, they were alone. Expelling a heavy breath, he moved barefoot over the debris, knowing if she were to close her eyes, she’d never know he approached.

She sat up, her slender shoulders stiff with expectation. He lowered himself before her, mirroring her position with his knees to the floor. They were close. She didn’t budge. The questions must have been compiling in her beautiful head since he’d ordered her to sit down because she whispered…

“You kissed me.”

She remembered. “Yes,” he answered truthfully.

After a moment’s hesitation, she nodded. “It was… familiar.”

Aw, hell. “Just familiar?”

He could hear her frantic heartbeat. It pounded beneath the light cotton of her t-shirt as she hesitantly raised her hands. If he let her do this, there would be no turning back. His dark, possibly limited existence would put a stain on the comfortable life she'd found without him. But, much to his dismay, the decision had been made the moment he took her.

He bowed his head… and waited.

About J. A. Dennam:

 J. A. Dennam, an award winning author and member of Romance Writers of America, resides in a small Kansas town with her husband and four children.   Besides her great love for literary arts, her passions include fine art, culinary art and music.

Storytelling has been a part of her life since childhood, when insomnia forced a young girl of six into counting popcorn on the ceiling in the dead of night.  Confessing her problem to her older sister, the two girls decided to tell each other stories to entice sleep; however, the inevitable snore always tore through her sister’s nose before she could utter the words ‘Once Upon A Time.’  So, the stories began to flow in silence, her imagination taking her to quiet, private places so enthralling, the trick was suddenly to stay awake.  Each night, she went to bed anticipating the continuation of the adventure that had been interrupted by sleep the previous night.  Soon, insomnia was no longer a problem and the stories would sometimes take months to complete.

Those habits carried on to adulthood until the need to purge her stories demanded she put them in print.  Her fascination with romance, fast cars and adventure films is what structures her stories today, making Romantic Suspense the genre she was simply born to write.

For over twenty years, Ms. Dennam has been ensconced in her career as a painter of Western art.  In the meantime, however, she managed to complete three novels: FLESH OF ANGELS, FLESH OF THE FATHER, and TRUTH AND HUMILITY.  The recent decision to forgo her fine art career in lieu of her writing career was a simple one.  Her passion for writing far outshines all other passions and she has only just begun to build her list of achievements by entering writing contests, joining local writer’s groups and stocking local bookstores with her titles.

Ms Dennam is proud to announce that she is now represented by Marisa A. Corvisiero, Esq. with the Corvisiero Literary Agency.

The Legacy Letters by Carew Papritz

SYNOPSIS:

A tragedy begins. A husband and wife separate. He’s dying. She doesn’t know. She’s pregnant. He can’t return. Now he races against time. In the solitude of a mountain cabin. In a faraway mountain range. Trying to finish . . .
For his children— his captivating stories and memories, turned into practical, moral, and spiritual instructions, now their “guidebook to life.”
For his wife—his intimate words of great love and deep regret, now his journey of redemption, now her passage to forgiveness.

Ultimately, he gives his final gift to her, to them, and now, to us all.

Darra's Review:

Writing this review is probably the hardest one I have wrote to date. The reason for this is because there are not enough words to explain how meaningful one book can be. As you read, this is from a Father's point of view. He is writing to his unborn children. And this is because he is dying of cancer. There are all notes that explain more about himself, about life and the lessons of what they need to know when becoming an adult.
The book(Letters) are so well written. It is like poetry, but you can understand. That is another reason I liked the book so much. He took so much time and obviously paid attention to each word in explaining the love he has with the life he lived.
I would be lying if I said I did not cry. The stories remind you of all the things you forget to pay attention to. Stressing about the unnecessary problems, and not noticing all the beauty we live in. The things I paid attention to when I was a child when everything was so simple.
I do read many books that are stories that I do love. However reading this kind of book, which is a rarity, remind me of the beauty that is expressed in words. A man who loved his wife and his unborn children he would never meet. There will be no other book that compares to the stories "Papa" wrote to his family.
I am honored that Carew Papritz gave me the chance to read this. There is no other way to express how I felt when I read this. I rate this book a 5(Never have rated a book a 5).

I have included excerpts from the book that gives just a hint of the emotion I felt reading the book.

Excerpt 1:
~I wish I could give this night to you. The truth of being so alive, But then I wish I could have many wishes. I wish I could keep walking far into God's night, and never stop. And I wish I could continue to live forever. And I wish, the biggest wish of all, that I could be with you right now.

Excerpt 2:
~And this being alive, it's something I've more than once forgotten to do, and am only now remembering to do again. It's never too late to begin, my little ones. Never.

Excerpt:

I traced the outline of the beads on his neck showing through his v-neck t-shirt. "What does this symbolize?"
"Prayer beads."
I let my fingers follow the line of his vein down his shoulder, over the flowers that dotted his upper arm and down to his forearm. I turned it so I could trace the lion on the inside. "And this?"
"Lions are bad ass."
"Seriously?"
He shrugged. "Unfortunately, not every tattoo I have has a meaning."
"The roses?"
"My mom's favorite flower. I know it's not original," he commented as he took my hand and put it over his heart where the roses were. "But after everything my parents went through with me I wanted something to symbolize them."
"Everything they want through?" I asked as I let my fingers fan out across the shape of his chest muscles before bringing them back up and playing with the tips of his hair that were beginning to curl.
"I left home when I was sixteen to record our first CD, went on tour at seventeen, and started tattooing the crap out of myself at eighteen. I know I'm successful, but I can't say I think this was what my parents wanted."
Evan had moved his head so he was staring out at the ocean. I watched as the waves reflected in his eyes and his chest heaved with a deep outlet of breath.
"I'm sure they're proud of you," I tried to reassure him, but I could tell from the way his jaw tightened that this was something he had been dealing with for a long time.
His eyes met mine and he reached up to touch my face. "I know...but it doesn't change the fact I was their only child, and I abandoned them for a life they never approved of."
"I'm not an excellent poster child for things parents approve of either. There's so much guilt I deal with day to day. I know that I hurt them," I explained, my voice diminishing to a cracking whisper that was only just audible against the sound of the waves.  I closed my eyes, unable to bear the look on his face as I admitted, "What's worse is the anger I feel at myself for it."
I felt Evan get up and kneel in front of me, pulling my face to his own. I concentrated on the touch of his rough finger tips, the smell of his heady Axe cologne and then the feel of his forehead as it pressed against mine while I tried to calm my breathing.
"Tell me something..." his voice drifted with the waves; "tell me why it feels like you're a part of my soul?"
I opened my eyes to look into his, watching as the yellow around his iris darkened to a burnt orange and the brown faded to a muted green.
"Because you're a part of mine."

Sunny's Thoughts:
