Roman by Lindsay Paige and Mary Smith!!

Blurb:

The Ninth Inning series presents Memphis Angels' left fielder, Roman Dailey.

Roman Dailey can't stop thinking about the time he spent with Carissa at a party at the end of last season. When she moves to Memphis, he can't help pursuing her. He knows who he wants, and he's willing to go after her. Even if she is his teammate's little sister.

Carissa Rodriguez is known as the little sister of first baseman Hector Rodriguez. In a mad dash to get away from her life in Florida, Carissa can't seem to make up her mind on anything besides the fact that she wants more of Roman Dailey and she doesn't know how to stop her growing feelings for him.

Roman and Carissa think their biggest hurdle is telling her brother, which could possibly mess with the team's good streak by causing tension amongst teammates, but they weren't prepared for the curveball life throws them.

Sunny's Review:

We all know by now how much I love this series but I was not sure if I was going to be interested in Roman because he did not have much of a role in the other books. I should have known that Lindsay and Mary were not going to disappoint me.

We met Carissa in Hector's book and I really liked her. She is Hector's little sister and was so fun. In this book some things have happened and she is no longer the fun loving college student. She has moved to Memphis and Hector makes it very clear that she is not to date anyone on the team. I was a little interested to see what Carissa's mother would do in this book since she was insane in Hector's book. Luckily for everyone, she has calmed down some.

Roman is pretty awesome. He was there for Carissa in every way that he could be. I really ended up liking him. Roman seems like a playboy at time and others times he is perfect boyfriend material. I really did love Roman. He is a really great friend first and truly cares about the people in his life.  There are a lot of things that I want to say about each of them but I don't want to spoil the book for you.

I am giving this book 4.5 stars out of 5. Go get it!!!

Colby by Lindsay Paige and Mary Smith!!

Synopsis:

The Ninth Inning series presents Memphis Angels' third baseman, Colby Wilson.
Colby Wilson gets talked into making a profile on a dating website. It's been a not-so-great experience so far, especially since his teammates have given him the nickname of Sugar Daddy thanks to the mistake of sharing his experiences. Colby just wants to settle down and finally have a place to call home once and for all. Then, he decides to meet the only sane person he's been able to talk to on the dating website.

Ariella Craft is a homicide detective who spends more time working cases than working on her love life. As a last resort, she decides to sign up for online dating and ends up talking to someone who doesn't seem to be crazy. After taking sound advice from her sister, Ariella meets the man she's been chatting with.

There is nothing but shock when they discover each other's identities. Colby and Ariella need to prioritize their careers and love lives, but when devastation hits them, it's more difficult than they both thought it would be.

Life is throwing nothing but curveballs. Colby and Ariella need to hit it out of the park before they strike out.

Sunny's Review:

I really love this series. You see the guys that already had books and you get to learn a little bit more about the guys that will be getting books soon. This is the 6th book and while you don't have to read the other books to follow this one, I recommend it.

This book is about Colby. He is the 3rd baseman and the oldest on the team, thirty two years old. He is pretty laid back and goes with the flow on most things. I love that he did online dating. He has said that he wants to meet someone and is doing what he needs to do meet them. Ariella is pretty laid back too. She is a detective and pretty much has her life in order. I like that both of them are a little bit older. Both of them have dedicated their lives to their careers so they understand each other. I liked Ariella's family. They were pretty entertaining.

I can't wait to find out what happens with the rest of the guys. I am giving this book 4.4 stars out of 5.

Jordan by Lindsay Paige and Mary Smith!!!

Synopsis:

The Ninth Inning series presents Memphis Angels' shortstop, Jordan Johnson.

Jordan Johnson loves his wife more than anything. After suffering a traumatic loss together, he's willing to give her whatever she needs. She needs space, he'll give her space. She needs time, he'll give her time. However, when Heidi asks for a divorce, Jordan refuses to give it to her. It's tough sometimes, but Jordan won't stop fighting for them.

Heidi Johnson's life seems to be a fairytale with the perfect baseball husband, the great vacation beach house, and a good career. Then, tragedy hit her from nowhere. Now, she's trying to figure out which way is up and which is down. She figures leaving Jordan and focusing on opening her own business will make the pain go away, but it doesn't help. Finally, she tells Jordan a divorce is what she needs, but he's too stubborn to give her what she wants the most.

Jordan won't give up on her and Heidi won't change her mind. Will he push her further away by reminding her of what they had? Will she push him too far with her rejections that he'll never come back? Or can they save their marriage?

When they're put into the ninth inning, will Jordan be able to hold tight to Heidi or will her stubbornness be the end of the game?

Sunny's Review:

I finished this book in less than a day. I love this series and I have been wondering what was going on with Jordan and his wife. He makes appearances in all the previous books. He never really says anything bad about his wife or marriage but it has been very curious to me. So I will say I freaking LOVE Jordan so much. I mean he might really be my favorite now. He is so beyond pretty much perfect it is crazy. I was planning on hating Heidi and Jordan in this book. I can honestly say that I didn't. I really kind of love them both. Heidi is insane but she has a very good reason to be. I don't blame her in any way. I think that Lindsay and Mary did a great job of showing something that I think happens to a lot of couples in their situation. I am not going to spoil this for you.

Heidi proves that she is strong and can survive on her own. Jordan shows that while he can do that too, he doesn't want to. If you haven't started this series you need to go get them all and start reading them. I am pretty sure I will probably go through them all again before Colby comes out next month.

I am giving this book 4.8 stars out of 5.

TRENT!! Lindsay Paige and Mary Smith

The Ninth Inning series presents Memphis Angels' second baseman, Trent Baker.
Trent Baker is struggling after losing his wife. He has to enlist the help of his grandmother to help him care for his daughter while trying to play baseball and work through his grief. The girl he meets at the gym becomes a friend and someone he can talk to, but she brings her own complications to the table.

Scarlett Knowles is a caring social worker who puts the needs of the children before her. When Scarlett finally gets the nerve to speak to Trent, she believes it'll be a one-time encounter until he keeps popping up everywhere she goes. The more they run into each other and the more they talk, the worse she feels about the secret she carries.

When the secret is revealed, more complications arise to put them both in a predicament neither are sure they want.

The win will be hard fought, but are Trent and Scarlett willing to put in the work together?

Sunny's Review:

OMG THIS BOOK!!! Seriously, was I the only person that finished Hector and had to email the authors IMMEDIATELY and ask the WHY they did this to ME??? You need to read this series in order. You will fall in love with this baseball team. You follow the Memphis Angels through the season. The first 3 books are a season and Trent is starting a new season. I am not joking when I say I emailed Lindsay Paige and was so upset with the cliffhanger! Luckily, Lindsay and Mary are AWESOME and took pity on me. I read Trent's book a while back.

I loved it. It is incredibly sad seeing Trent struggle through his wife's death and having to raise his daughter while still trying to play baseball. The guys on the team try to help him but really what do a bunch of baseball players know about raising a little girl and trying to pull someone out of that type of grief. Trent's Grandma is a huge part of his life and I loved her. She was strong and loving but still put Trent in his place as needed. Scarlett might be my favorite female character in this series so far. I can't tell you her secret but oh my gosh, I can't believe she is dealing with all of this. Scarlett is very giving and selfless. She is a social worker and seriously one of the ones that care and will do what they can for the kids. Trust me, you will love her. I loved watching the friendship grow with Trent and Scarlett. They have so much going against them.

It is so hard to not going into details but I don't want to spoil anything for you. I am giving this book 4.8 stars out of 5. Go get it and love it! Bring on JORDAN!!!

Hector!

The Ninth Inning series presents Memphis Angels' first baseman, Hector Rodriguez.
Hector Rodriguez is an easy going guy, the one who tries to make everyone laugh or smile on the hard days. He loves playing baseball, loves his family, and loves chasing the girl who has caught his eye. His two biggest obstacles are getting the girl to give him the time of day and then getting his mother to look past what she sees on the surface.

Zoey Reyes is use to people staring at her because of the tattoos covering her body, but the big tipper who has been begging for her name for two months is the only one who looks at her differently. Once Hector wears her down and finds out her name, she realizes why he is so likeable. However, it's one battle after another for their friendship to grow and Zoey's not sure how much stress she can handle.

Hector and Zoey are making the right plays, but will it be enough for them to come out with a big win?

Sunny's Review:

I absolutely love Hector! He is funny and really and truly a good guy. He is always there for his friends and family. You get to see a lot of interaction with his sister and some of his interactions with Blake. I really like getting to see that from Hector's POV. Hector is not judgemental which after you meet his mother you have to wonder how he turned out so great. Not saying his parents aren't great but his mom is a piece of work. Zoey is great. You can totally identify with her. She loves her family and will do anything for them but she has some major self esteem issues. I really like her. The interactions between Zoey and Hector is really good. I think one of the reasons I like this series so much is that the relationships are starting out as friends first.

The one thing I will say about this book is HOLY CLIFFHANGER BATMAN! You get to meet the guys that will have books in Season 2 and seriously OMG I had to email Lindsay to talk about this. I can't wait to get started on the next books in this series. We all know that I love baseball (yes, even more than football) and who doesn't love baseball guys?

I am giving this book 4.4 stars out of 5! You really need to go get this one and if you haven't read the first 2 get them!!!

I pictured Jason Castro from the Houston Astros when reading Hector. Granted Castro is the catcher for the 'Stros but I love him so he is my Hector.

The Ninth Inning Series by Lindsay Paige and Mary Smith!!

The Ninth Inning series presents Memphis Angels' pitcher, Felix Hernandez.
Felix Hernandez's life is baseball, baseball, baseball, and then his family. He rarely remembers anything that doesn't concern the game. He's never had a good enough reason to reprioritize his life or change his ways.

Relying on her sisters most of the time, Abigail Harris is trying to put her life in order. She's now a graduate student and living on her own. It's not until Felix deems her his lucky charm that her life begins to change. Now, Abigail isn't sure if she should be focusing on her happiness or the professional baseball player.

Can the two handle any fastballs that come their way or will they strike out under pressure?

Sunny's Review:

So we all know how much I love baseball. I mean I was an Astros fan when they were the Lastros :( I was totally looking forward to this series. I love the sport themed books that Lindsay Paige and Mary Smith do together. So far they have all been about hockey so I was interested to see how they pulled off the baseball books. I am pretty happy with it.

Felix is a pitcher and by pitcher I mean an amazing pitcher. He finds his good luck charm and then makes sure that she is there at his games to keep his luck going. Baseball players to tend to be extremely superstitious so I like that they got this into the book. I like Felix and he was a pretty good character. I liked Abigail too. I liked that she was not falling all over herself for him when she found out he was a baseball player and the fact that she played along as his lucky charm. Both characters had some issues to deal with and there were times I wanted to strangle them both but they redeemed themselves.

I am giving this book 4.3 stars out of 5.

The Ninth Inning series presents Memphis Angels' catcher, Blake Foster.
Blake Foster has a love/hate relationship with the game he plays for a living. On good days, he smiles and enjoys baseball. During the rest of the time, he's battling his demons and looking out for his mother. He has a hard time keeping ahold of the good things in life no matter how badly he wants them.

Sofia Gardner might come from a rich family, but she has worked for the opportunity for a position on the staff for the Memphis Angels. However, when she meets Blake, she realizes there's more to him than his constant grumpy expressions. She feels he needs a friend and in her good-natured way, she reaches out to him, only to find the demons he's battling are much worse than she thought.

When the bases are loaded and it all comes down to the catch at home plate, can they get their out or lose it all when it matters most?

Sunny's Review:

You get to see a little bit of Blake and Sofia in Felix's book. I was interested to see if I was going to like Blake. Sometimes for me the second book in the series tend to fall flat. This has been across the board on almost all books and series but I actually like this book better than Felix. Don't get me wrong, Felix was a good book but I really like Blake.

Blake has a lot of things going on in his personal life and really deals pretty well but not really. You are going to have to read the book to see what that means. He is one of the only Memphis Angels that remained after a scandal and should technically be the leader of the team. He isn't but Hector kind of latches onto him and tries to make him more personable. Sofia works for the team as a massage therapist and is a strong girl. She tries to be Blake's friend and does put up with a lot of crap from him. I like that she is pretty well adjusted and does push Blake past his comfort zone. There is a lot of drama in this book.

I can't wait to see what Hector's book is like. He is pretty funny and I like him a lot.

I am giving this book 4.4 stars out of 5.
