The Ninth Inning series presents Memphis Angels' first baseman, Hector Rodriguez.
Hector Rodriguez is an easy going guy, the one who tries to make everyone laugh or smile on the hard days. He loves playing baseball, loves his family, and loves chasing the girl who has caught his eye. His two biggest obstacles are getting the girl to give him the time of day and then getting his mother to look past what she sees on the surface.
Zoey Reyes is use to people staring at her because of the tattoos covering her body, but the big tipper who has been begging for her name for two months is the only one who looks at her differently. Once Hector wears her down and finds out her name, she realizes why he is so likeable. However, it's one battle after another for their friendship to grow and Zoey's not sure how much stress she can handle.
Hector and Zoey are making the right plays, but will it be enough for them to come out with a big win?
Sunny's Review:
I absolutely love Hector! He is funny and really and truly a good guy. He is always there for his friends and family. You get to see a lot of interaction with his sister and some of his interactions with Blake. I really like getting to see that from Hector's POV. Hector is not judgemental which after you meet his mother you have to wonder how he turned out so great. Not saying his parents aren't great but his mom is a piece of work. Zoey is great. You can totally identify with her. She loves her family and will do anything for them but she has some major self esteem issues. I really like her. The interactions between Zoey and Hector is really good. I think one of the reasons I like this series so much is that the relationships are starting out as friends first. The one thing I will say about this book is HOLY CLIFFHANGER BATMAN! You get to meet the guys that will have books in Season 2 and seriously OMG I had to email Lindsay to talk about this. I can't wait to get started on the next books in this series. We all know that I love baseball (yes, even more than football) and who doesn't love baseball guys?
I am giving this book 4.4 stars out of 5! You really need to go get this one and if you haven't read the first 2 get them!!!
