JL Beck

Synopsis:
He was bold, intoxicating, and held a darkness that pulled at my heart-strings.I wanted him from the very first moment I saw him across the dance floor at the club.
She was quiet, but her eyes, and body said everything her words couldn't.
I didn't know who she was when I took her and made her my own.
We had already crossed a dangerous line that there was no coming back from.
We were on the run. From who I didn't know, but he told me it would all be okay. That he would do whatever he could to protect me from the people that were hunting us.
What I failed to see was that the monster had always been right within grabbing distance.
Now that I was apart of his world, his life, and hopefully his heart could I survive the carnage that was about to take place?
The ties that binded us, were also the ties that would end us.
I loved him, and now all that was left for me was death.

Synopsis:
SOMEONE’S BOUND TO GET BURNED…
Zoe Westin may be a fire captain’s daughter, but feeding the people in her hometown of Fairview is her number one priority. But when she's saddled with a gorgeous firefighter doing community service after yet another daredevil stunt, the kitchen has never been so hot.

Alex Donovan thrives on adrenaline, and stirring a pot of soup doesn’t exactly qualify. He’s not an expert
at following the rules either, not even when they come from the stubborn, sexy daughter of the man who's not only his boss, but his mentor. Determined to show Zoe that not every risk ends in catastrophe, Alex challenges her both in the kitchen and out. One reckless step leads to another, but will falling for each other be a risk worth taking, or will it just get them burned?

Synopsis:

A woman who almost had it all . . .

On the surface, Celine Gonzalez had everything a twenty-eight-year-old woman could want: a one-bedroom apartment on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, a job that (mostly) paid the bills, and an acceptance letter to the prestigious Hollingsworth Institute of Art, where she would finally live out her dream of becoming an antiques appraiser for a major auction house. All she had worked so hard to achieve was finally within her reach. So why would she kill herself?

A man who was supposed to be her salvation . . .

Maggie Sparkes arrives in New York City to pack up what’s left of her best friend’s belongings after a suicide that has left everyone stunned. The police have deemed the evidence conclusive: Celine got into bed, downed a lethal cocktail of pills and vodka, and never woke up. But when Maggie discovers a scandalous photograph in a lock box hidden in Celine’s apartment, she begins asking questions. Questions about the man Celine fell in love with. The man she never told anyone about, not even Maggie. The man Celine believed would change her life.

Until he became her ruin.

On the hunt for evidence that will force the police to reopen the case, Maggie uncovers more than she bargained for about Celine’s private life—and inadvertently puts herself on the radar of a killer. A killer who will stop at nothing to keep his crimes undiscovered.

For every action, there is a reaction.

People aren’t always who they say they are. Everyone has their secrets. Some are more evil than I ever thought imaginable.

I was left broken and alone after my boyfriend was murdered in my bar.

An old acquaintance moves into Liam’s home and a spark is ignited deep inside me.

Becoming vulnerable made me weak, and I never saw it coming.

When obsession takes over, lies and deceit can be killer.

Darra's Review:

We received the book knowing it would be a surprise with no title and author to link it with. Which made it even more exciting. The book was non stop. It kept my interest from the beginning of the story to the last page of the book. I liked Tinsley. She was believable and was down to earth. Not whiny and  is reasonable. She is mourning the death of her past lover. Now trying to move on, she has to get back to real life and try to start to date.
Maguire is interested in Tinsley from the beginning. You will be weary of him and any person she may date. She also is very close to Noah. So sweet. He brings out the best of Tinsley. You can't help but root for him.
I cannot explain more without giving away the ending.
This is a must read. A favorite I will go back to later. Good job Leighton Riley. Fantastic writing, great story and fascinating characters.
I rate the book a 4.6.

Sunny's Review:

This book was really good. I was sucked in from the very beginning. The author did a great job of making you feel everything that Tinsley was feeling. You feel really bad for her because she is so sad messed up over Liam's death. Understandable, obviously, but you still just feel so bad for her. I was pretty happy when Tinsley started to try to move on. I didn't really like Maguire from the beginning but I was happy that he was bringing her back around. I LOVED Noah. He is the best friend and does anything and everything for Tinsley. I really wanted her to fall for him.

I loved the mystery of this book. There are some things that the author just puts out there and I actually liked that. Even though you feel like you know everything that is going on because of the way the book was written you really don't! I love it.

Seriously go get this book. I am giving it 4.5 stars out of 5. You need to get it today!

Watching movers pack away his things and throw them into the truck is so impersonal. Tossing the boxes into a truck with no thought as to what they are handling. I wish I had the strength to be the one who packed it all away, but I couldn’t. It was hard enough to pack up my things. I moved my stuff out of the home two weeks ago, but the majority of everything in that home was his.

He was my other half. My soul mate. One morning, we were completely in love and talking about starting a family, and then by nightfall, I had found my boyfriend barely alive in the storage room of the bar I owned. I rode with him as he was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, praying he would pull through even though the look on the paramedics’ faces told me otherwise. After what seemed like forever in the waiting room, doctors gave me the news he didn’t make it. The police questioned me extensively, and later that night, I came home to his empty house. From that day on, I have been on autopilot.

Leighton Riley resides in Dallas, Tx and works in real estate for her day job. She writes contemporary romance and romantic suspense. Sinfully, Regretfully, and Deceitfully can be read in order or as standalones. Sinfully and Regretfully take place around the same time frame and can even be read in reverse order (will give more background on Payton and Ryder's story). Tate's story, Deceitfully, finishes off the series. She's also the author of the romantic suspense novel, Catalyst.

Title: Larkin’s Letters and Ryan’s Letters Author: Jax Jillian Genre: Chick Lit, Romance Re-Release Date: December 1, 2015 Tour Host: DRC Promotions

About The Books

"I left you something on the nightstand," she said. "You did? What is it?" "Just turn over and look," she pleaded. He turned over to look, hesitantly, not wanting to look away from her. She always seemed to disappear every time he looked away. A manila envelope lay atop the white rustic nightstand and the word "Ryan" that was penned across the front was beckoning him. He glared at the envelope for just a moment before turning back to her. But she was gone. As Ryan Boone struggles to come to grips with not being able to keep a promise he made to his dying wife, Larkin's Letters propels readers into the mind of Ryan as he struggles with frequent visits from her ghost and a series of letters she leaves behind. Ryan worked hard to become one of Hollywood's most sought-after actors, but no matter how busy or famous he became, he always remained loyal to his childhood best friend, Larkin James. When Larkin is diagnosed with leukemia, Ryan sacrifices his career to be by her side and in turn realizes how much he had always loved her. Throughout Larkin's sickness, Ryan promised that he wouldn't let her die alone. But we learn that not all of our promises are within our control.

Praise For Larkin’s Letters

This exquisitely written debut novel is one you should not pass up Drue Hoffman, DRC Promotions Just click it … that’s all I can say. Thank you Jax for sending this book; I can never repay you for something you gave me but had no idea you were giving. Amy, Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets I am speechless, utterly speechless. This book was phenomenal, and probably one of the best of this genre I have read in a long time. Kayla West, Amazon Reviewer Each letter is more beautiful and insightful as the next and will shatter you in a million beautiful different ways. Books Are Love After I read this amazing story it made me realize, how lucky we are to find our true love, our best friend and the person we can't breathe without. A loving memory stays with you forever. Books And Beyond Fifty Shades The beauty of this kind of books is that we as readers—at least me—find a common denominator with the plot and bring their own wishes to hold those last letters or being able to have that brief, yet amazing love affair with the love of your life before they left. Author Claudia Burgoa

Sunny's Review:

Oh my Gosh! This book was great. I can't even really tell you how much I loved it. It is so incredibly moving to read. Normally I don't like this type of book but I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. From the very beginning I was pulled in and I read this book in a night. Granted I was up at 2AM bawling my eyes out but totally worth it. I fell in love with Larkin and Ryan so quickly. I love that you get to see everything that she was thinking and feeling. I almost want to tell everyone that is getting married to read this book. I don't want to give anything away but I will say that I am not a huge crier and it usually takes a lot for me. This book had me crying through the majority of it. I very rarely gives books 5 stars but this one is definitely a 5 star book. I wish I could give it 6!

Ryan's Letters

My dearest Larkin. Help me. I'm drowning. It has been almost eight months since the love of his life, Larkin, passed, and Ryan Boone has tried to make good on his promise to her to keep living. The letters she left behind had helped him tremendously, but all of a sudden, he felt like he was drowning and only she could save him. The only way he could think to reach out to her was to write her letters, just like she did to him. He never thought that she would actually get them; after all, she was gone. But when he sees her sitting on their private dune reading his letter, his grief would never be the same. Ryan's Letters, the sequel to Jax Jillian's first novel, Larkin's Letters, takes readers on a journey with Ryan Boone as he struggles to completely come to terms with his wife's death. That struggle becomes even harder when Larkin's ghost comes to visit him each time he writes to her. But when Lux, a beautiful new doctor, moves in next door and befriends Ryan, he must choose between Larkin's visits and a potential new love.

Praise For Ryan’s Letters

In 2 books this amazing author has captured and portrayed the ultimate love story, one that is for a lifetime and beyond even when that lifetime is short. Drue Hoffman, DRC Promotions Very emotional and moving story that will stay with me that deserves more than 5 stars Lorena Garcia, Brittany's Book Blog I have no adequate words to describe this story, other than to say it is beautifully written and one that will stay with me for a long time. Nicole, My Book Filled Life This book is a must read and even a reread. The first book Larkin's letters torn my heart out. This book builds your spirit. Korena Kerner, Goodreads Review This book broke my heart wide open then slowly put it back together again. The author uses words in a manner that engages the readers emotions so intensely that you should have kleenex close by. Teri Lloyd, Sportochick’s Musings

Sunny's Review:

I was not sure if this book could live up to Larkin's Letters but it really did. You see Ryan after he reads Larkin's Letters and he is trying to move on. Some things happen and he starts to write letters to Larkin and begins to see her. While I didn't cry through the majority of this one, there were some tears and sniffles. I love this story. I don't normally like a lot of books that are tear jerkers and so sad. I like to escape reality when I read but I will recommend these books to everyone. I love getting to watch Ryan work through his grief and total despair. As sad as the situation is, it is amazing to watch the love that this author created between these characters. It makes you hope that you can find that in real life. Seriously 5+++++ Stars for this book.
