Darra's Review:

I enjoyed this series because it was unique. Non stop action, unbelievable moments and fantastic characters. Characters that continue to evolve despite what you think would be possible. With all that has happened to Xandra before, it is unbelievable the plot thickens more.

Xandra is in beyond a love triangle. It is crazy how many guys are smittened with her. However that is what happens when you our the leader over all. The love of her life is still stuck in Arcos. The bane of her existence. Among of people as well. Loved Grant, Darius, Liam and Sinthos. Also, DeMarco has a larger part in this book. So conflicted with him! Made me laugh. Also, Liam as well. Yes, in most of the book, he was not around. Xandra finds out a huge piece of his past she can't imagine living without. I must say that she is a bigger person than I am. I do not know if I could forgive him if he was ever to show up again.

I was sad, mad, giddy, and content. So much happens that my head was spinning. At times it was hard to keep up. Just as long as you have read the 2nd book lately, all will make sense.

This book rivals the first in the series. Enjoyed it because of all the characters and who they evolve into. The ending was shocking and did not see that happening. But happy it did.

Absolutely worth the read. However make sure you read both books of the Hidden Souls series or you will be crazy lost.

I rate the book a 4.6 out of 5. Need a break from the usual? This is just what you need.

Sunny's Review:

I actually really love this series. It is different from a lot of the usual books out there. You have Xandra who is the leader of this group of people and she actually handles it pretty well. I think I would have gone insane if I were her. There are a lot of characters in this book and at times it was hard to remember who was who. It was not so confusing that it took away from the book but I will go back and reread the whole series together so that I can get the full effect.

I loved the characters in this series and I could not get enough of them. Xandra has so many soul mates and you have to love them all. There was plenty of hot tension in this book but there was definitely a lot of laughs too. Xandra grows up quite a bit in the series and I really love her.

I am giving this book 4.6 stars out of 5 and 4.7 stars for the series as a whole. Go get these books and enjoy.

Prologue ~  Xandra Kallan
  TWO YEARS LATER
Have you ever seen someone's life flash before your eyes?
I have.
Every time I recite their eulogy, their memories hit me hard like a speeding freight train, seconds from derailing off the track. Unwillingly, I was the keeper of their memories. The vault housing all their deepest, darkest secrets, and once they were gone forever, I would lock them and throw away the key.
Descendant #1205: The Nightingale
My soulmates, Apollo and I, snuck into a hotel building in downtown Manhattan. The hotel was under siege with civilians being held as hostages. Strapped and suited in gray body armor, we were ready to cross another soul's name off our ever-growing list of Arcos's descendants. I hand-signaled for us to separate to complete our individual missions. They were responsible for freeing the hostages and extinguishing the captors, while I took out the head-bitch-in-charge, Farrah Giago. Her sin was greed. She would sing her victims to sleep, rob them of all their valuables, and assassinate them. In the past two weeks, her and her crew had cleaned out six major banks around the United States, stealing over one-hundred million dollars. Every undercover attempt to bring her to the light had failed. Today was her judgment day. Apollo and I trapped her in the hallway. She was covered in the blood of the old woman she'd just brutally stabbed to death. Her eyes held the telltale signs of a lost soul—no remorse, no guilt. Killing to her seemed just as easy as breathing.
How could she be so heartless?
The vacantly fixed eyes of the old lady centering on me made the blood in my veins run cold. This frail woman was someone's mother, grandmother or aunt, and now she was gone. In a heartbeat. I couldn’t save her.
“Who the fuck are you, and why do you keep following me around?” she yelled, getting up in my face as she gritted her teeth. Looking into her brown eyes hidden underneath her bangs of chocolate-brown, I realized she was a soul who couldn't be saved. Her soul was as dead as the woman she’d just killed. All that lay in the gateways to her soul was emptiness. Emptiness her greed could never satisfy—she’d always going to want more. Her deep-rooted need for greed helped me to understand the murderous anger of Arcos. He was only half a soul constantly searching for a way to fill the empty void.
“I was your savior but now your maker. Your evil among this world is a deal breaker. I'm the undertaker of your soul. With this one special bullet to your head, I will extinguish the evil you bestow. For your sin of greed, will be no more. Any final words?”
She spat in my face before flashing me that notorious and mischievous smile.
With the swift pull of my trigger, the dark to her light went out. “May your Hidden Soul rest in peace.”

Darra's Review:

The first book, Hidden Souls was amazing. So once we saw the opportunity to review this book, we were all over it. Seriously, even if you are not into Paranormal Romance, anyone would enjoy both books.
Hidden Souls had a huge cliffhanger that may have caused chaos in my mind. I could not wait to get some resolution to the first book. I did not get that. Left again with a cliffhanger and saying WTF out loud.
Xandra planned to leave what was her town behind. To never return to he haunted by who she lost. Her soul mate. This part can be confusing. This is a struggle against the good and the bad people. All Xandra's mission is to protect the ones she loves and keep the peace. It was rough for her. I felt more in touch with Xandra in this book than the first. Only because she lives a life no other person can handle. Strength is not a strong enough word to explain who she is.
So many people in this book. Darius is one you will fall in love with. Just a great guy that loves unconditionally. Despite the havoc of Xandra's life. Loyal thru the entire book. I am rooting for him on the HEA.
Some of the bad guys show back up and makes Xandra's life a nightmare once again. But that is what makes a book interesting! There was action till the last page. I know the fallout and ending will come in the next book, but I wish there were many more books. So much happens and I need resolution for every character!

I rate the book a 4.7 out of 5. Could not stop reading and had my life on hold for 5 hours. Could not put this book down. Descendants of Arcos is the book I always enjoy to read the most. JP did a fantastic job evolving characters to be so much more.

Sunny's Review:

I have been waiting for this book to come out for so long. I really loved the first book in this series and I was not disappointed in this book. You do have to read these books in order so if you have not read the first one, stop reading this review and go get it. You will be lost and nothing will make sense if you don't read Resurrection of Sin.

This book picks up where the last book ended. Xandra has taken off for Colorado and is trying to get her life back under control after the disaster in Groverton. As soon as she gets to CSU she runs into another soul and everything gets sideways again. She meets Walter and Darius, as well as a few other people. She realizes that she recognizes their souls and tries to do everything she can to save them. Darius is pretty great and falls for Xandra immediately. Normally this would annoy me in a book but I understand why it is happening here.

I don't want to give too much away so I will not go too deep into the plot. I am not going to lie, I did need to go back and reread the end of the first book so that I could refresh my memory. I am giving this book 4.6 stars out of 5. It is really good and I can't wait for more.

"You've made your point. You’re a legend; everyone knows your name. Now stop. You don't have to be this person anymore."
"Stop? What difference would it make? The damage is done. This is who I am," he growled, pounding his fist to his chest.
"This is not who you are; this is what you want everyone to believe. But I know the truth, you’re just like your father. Underneath all that hostility and rage, is a good man. And it would make a huge difference to me if you'd try to change," I said, giving him my irresistible big eyes.
He answered with a sigh.
"All I'm asking is for you to try."
"Why?"
"Because...I want to learn how to love you."

Darra's Review:

When first starting this book, I was worried what I read on the synopsis was not how the story would be told. However page by page, the book unfolded into a fantastic story that keeps your interest until the last page.
I loved the characters(although some I had hatred for, but they didn't matter as much). Xandra, Liam and another guy I cannot mention until you read the book. The characters evolved into who they were meant to be instead of the ordinary life they were living up till now.
There were so many twists in the story that I didn't even see coming. Which is rare. Well written with a great story. It was the whole package wrapped up into one book. And the ending, I can't believe it left off there. I had to immediately ask Sunny if this is a series.
Can't wait until the next book. No really, I need the next book out as soon as humanly possible. Unforgettable to say the least.

I rate the book a 4.8. I truly loved the whole book. Absolutely worth your time.

Sunny's Review:

This book is crazy. I was sucked in from page one and could not put it down, trust me I tried at 1:30AM on a weeknight. My alarm goes off at 4:30AM so you know if I am up reading at 1:30 the book is holding me. There is mystery in here along with romance. I totally fell in love with Liam. I mean he admits he is a jerk and not a great person but he also admits that he has changed since he met Xandra. He proves repeatedly that he has changed and I wanted to shake Xandra for holding back from him. I actually liked Xandra too. She is a strong woman that has her life in order (for the most part).

There are so many twists and turns in this story. You need to pay attention and it will be easy for you to do this. I do have a lot of questions. I can't wait to get the next book. I am hoping that it answers some of my questions. I am also going to reread this book to see if I missed anything. I also love that this author has the same thoughts on soul mates as I do.

I am giving this book 4.7 stars out of 5. I have not read a book exactly like this one and I really did enjoy it. I want to find out more!
